Great to hear ----- with stability the Sharks will eventually emerge as a real power of the SFL.
I head a message last night on the power of perseverance and despite things going wrong after the progress made in '08 all the Sharks need to do is stick at it. Eventually you'll find top players that stick with you like this particular coach is doing =D>

hmmmmm........i dont know if you're takin the piss outtta me or brd2.

but yes, as with every single football club in the country, we expect to lose some players, and we expect to gain some players. now, i'm no Kevin Sheedy, but from my experiences with footy clubs, this seems to be a relatively normal practice.

Good stuff he is sticking around, but "taken some balls"? I'm pretty sure he knew what he was getting into, and we all know Aldinga is not a 1-2 year fix. Long term commitment required.

Premiership success to you this year Foxy, or what?

I still say it took some balls as it is a hard task and with his young family and everything it would have been a big decision, not easy being a coach let alone at a bottom two club. It's not all roses DS as you may not know but I commend Brad on following through good on him.

As for me I had to pull the pin about 12 rounds in as the wife fell pregnant again and had her hands full with the young fella and morning/ whole day sickness it just got too much. Went and watched most of the games but the lads were in fine form and yes snagged the honours on the day, judging by the quality of blokes and depth at the club I would have struggled to get a guernsey GF day as their was some great players deservedly lining up and more so mising out.

Resigning Brad was a good move, the club need some stability. Keeping Brad will keep a lot of players too, many were ready to move on if Brad left. Should never have been questioned if Brad should stay on or not! Greg Robins staying on as Reserve Grade coach aswell. Both have worked hard and will reap rewards if they stick around.
Renovations are in the form of a brand new kitchen, a lick of paint for the dining area and a few extra bits and pieces.
Recruiting is going well, a couple of very talented players keen to play for the Sharks are in talks with Brad and team atm.

Not everyone is about $$$, there is still a few fellas around that play for other reasons than money. After all we go to work for money and play footy for enjoyment, at least thats the way I remember it being... :?

Good to see that money isn't everything at aldinga. Interesting that you just signed Daniel Longman and Sam Talbot for $350 a game and a $800 sign on fee EACH!!!!
Talk around the traps is that they are just out for money...... wont see any of that coin over the bar

Dont believe me? Ask ur recruiting officers.

even if your figures are a joke, should we apoligise for being a struggling club, trying to improve, and to do so we have to pay some players? we must be the only club in Australia paying players are we?

usually it's middle-of-the-ladder teams that dipsh!ts like you talk poo about how much they're spending trying to add that missing piece to be a contender, this year it us is it?

in that case........

We're sorry for trying to better ourselves. We're sorry we don't want to settle for bottom or second bottom every year for the rest of our existance. We're sorry we want to be able to push, and one day hopefully beat teams like Flaggies, Marion, Noarlunga and Porties. We're sorry mate. We're truly sorry.

IIRC Sam Talbot played a few games for Aldinga a couple of years ago as his brother was there.
Hasn't he been at PHOS more recently?

Is his brother still at The Sharks?

If this is true, how can a bloke like Daniel Longman continously be offered large amounts of money to play football? He didn't set the world on fire at Morphy Parks and from all reports was very average at Bridgewater this year! Surely the recruiting people at Aldinga should do some research and look at previous form before throwing around any coin. I guess there is no coincidence that he is approached and signs with perennially underperforming teams.

On the other hand, Sam Talbot can certainly play, but for a young fella already has a number of clubs under his belt. I am aware that one of these clubs was Aldinga, so can see the link of him heading back. Will his brother come back with him?
