what is marshalls background?? and why will these blokes all supposedly go to seaton if he is the coach??
from speaking to a few portland lads they seem to have a pretty tight knit group down there?? would think they will be as good if not better then seaton next year. especially if wanders and the like leave.

as far as i know we wont have to many A graders leaving next year, Aaron Wiles is the only one i have heard of at this stage due to looking at going back to the SANFL which the club fully supports although we would still love to have him.

Marshal played for smosh and portland and was the head coach at portland for a few years, most of our A grade from this year are young and wernt really involved when marshy was in charge so dont have much of a conection with him hence why i dont think we will loose much to seaton in the near future. many moons ago portland lost some real quality players to seaton but cant see it happening again any time soon

Marshall has won Portlands BnF a number of times, (I think 5??), he also coached the A grade for 2 years in 2004-2005 when the side was religated from div 3 back to Div 4 in 2005. I dunno what he is like as a coach but he seems to have done a very good job with Seatons B grade this season helping them win a flag.
There was a falling out with thens playing group and the committee and about 15 starting A graders left including himself, majority of them all went to Seaton.
I cant see to many if any blokes going to Seaton teaboy, as you have said, we have a tight nit group of blokes and if it was me, I wouldnt want to play against my old side in the same div. Who knows though?

Exactly Fisty, there would be about 3 or 4 players who were around the club when Marshall was around and there is no love lost between the two clubs. And back in the day when the guys left Portland to Seaton it was to play in a higher grade, no incentive at all to leave the Thunder dome and cross to the boulevardThis just proves that "the recruiter" has NFI and is just posting to start rumours

Which league club is Wilesy heading to? Has Josh Moody signed on for next year? Heard he is been chased pretty hard by Hamley Bridge.

believe a few different clubs have spoken to him.
He has also spoke to some other clubs in dfferent states.

havent heard to much on Moods, I know he has met with Hamley bridge, if other guys payments and the offers they make, could be a hard number to knock back. Suppose he has to way up if he wants to play with all his mates or chase the cash, still young and has plenty of good footy left in him yet, Id play with my mates now and chase the coin later in my career. Not that ill ever have that problem 8)

Marshall was a good coach. Due to things, persons and guidlines behind the scenes the move across the boulevard took place. Was very capable as a coach and gave a few blokes a go who are now rather good players in other grades higher in some respects and so on. I found that he had full support of the playing group back then which was valuable. When you have a leader like taht at a club and then they leave ofcourse there will be substantial fallout which was evident in 05. I agree with you Fisty (sweetheart) i cant see any connection to Marshall or Seatonwith our current playing group other than they drive passed Seaton's oval on the way to the "Mall".
In regards to the C grade going as well? Well thats news to me. The next one from this joker that he will be trying to tell us that our entire football club is moving to Seaton or Smosh. No wait the three clubs are going to join forces and become the Portlakes Ramblers.
