The Norm Smith is an award that begun after 1977 so its never happened before.....

Channel 7 confirmed moments before yesterday's presentation that there will be another one awarded next week.

However on a side note I did some research for this one but the AFL will only award 22 premiership medals to those that play in the replay.

the only reason i can think why a norm smith was awarded yesterday is for all the betting agncies.

if u had a double i.e st kilda to win into hayes for the medal they would have needed to give a refund on the result. just like the brownlow its all about gambling

I have no idea if it carries on next week, no email or anything from Sportsbet yet. In truth, the bet is a loss and I've already accepted that but would have no problem if it was still alive next week. 8)

It is all about the betting. I backed juddy, Hayes and the draw. Fair to say I'm flying high at the moment

23 for Judd. 14 for Hayes. 41 for the draw. Very stoked

Surely you're not suggesting the Norm Smith medal is exclusive to a winning or losing team. So are you saying the medal for the best player in a showdown should only be awarded in the event of a win or loss.

i got my odds on hayes at 13 but only put 3$ on due to poor brownlow betting but still handy payout for 3$

Dont see the reasoning there as the umpires dont vote for the norm smith!
