I've been using Firefox for several years now and I prefer it. Tried Opera but I do quite a few online surveys and found a lot wouldn't work with anything other than IE or Firefox.

DW why don't you download Firefox and give it a try. Shouldn't take long...even my netbook only took a few minutes to download it. If you don't like it you can always delete/remove it and go back to IE or try one of the others.

Yes a lot of sites are not written to International standards and therefore only really work wit IE - many programmers are trained only in M$'s proprietary version of Java.
Firefox emulates IE when necessary, but possibly/probably at the risk of also emulating IE's security faults.
Opera refuses to risk security that much.

I have tended to use Opera where I can and Firefox where I have to, but have been using Firefox more lately.
[Since an Opera update lost my stored log ins in Opera.]
