Coulter and Kreig are probably better examples.

In the end though, whether a player gets approached officially or unofficially, end of season or midseason, if they're happy they won't move.

And I seem to recall that Dean Howard was basically sacked by West mid season for some reason. Might be thinking of someone else though.

Ben Warren either to Sturt or Norwood.

Will definitely play SANFL to get to 200 games.

I'm hearing either Glenelg, Norwood or Central?

Everyone wants to play for Central District, is that right Phil? Eagleton, Warren, anyone else????

I'm hoping that 'Pokies Club' in the Salisbury area to be run by the Magpies gets the approval to Central Districts shagrin!

Yeah mate, EVERY single player to EVER play in the SANFL has wanted to play for Central first

Just posting what I have heard re Warren - the Eagleton comment was a throw-away line intimating he could stay in the red, white and blue as a Bulldog by chosing to return to the SANFL.

Nothing more, nothing less...

As for Alleway going to West - Collins did ring him directly mid season to try and a lure him to Richmond. Hopefully West won't be too upset when people from North start directly ringing West players without an official approach to their club? Ferguson would a be a good fit at CHB now White has gone!

Yep :( I believe Arch has a business he intends to run.

But as for Allers, wouldn't he be in line as the next captain (probably should have got the gig 2 years ago). Having said this, he was strong in support for Healy after the last game, as was Jimmy Alan who I don't think wants the captancy.

The Boundaries Commission is set up to ensure a relatively even distribution of young males, so if other clubs' zones didn't grow at the same rate as yours, the excess in your zone would be redistributed. No club is going to end up with a massively disproportionate number of young males, if they do their job properly.

Make sense Central get Elizabeth, Craigmore, Smithfield and the Barossa and another club gets Blakeview and Munno Para West.

Would you seriously propose we allow one club to have tens of thousands more potential footballers than the others?

No but please explain to me how and which clubs you are going to split Craigmore, Smithfield, Blakeview, Blakes Crossing, Playford Alive and Munno Para West with.

They are all metropolitan, and within 15kms of Elizabeth Oval.

What does it matter, there's no alternative. West Adelaide has zones that aren't in the west of Adelaide.

True but are they within 10km of another teams ground.

The SANFL cant have it both ways, they want children supporting THEIR local footy and THEIR local team, yet then they wont give children the oppurtunity to play for their local team.

I was under the impression that the dogs were somewhat behind in terms of their metro zone anyway.

Well Salisbury was taken from Central and given to Port wasn't it meaning Hodges, Wanganeen etc played for the Maggies instead of the Dogs?

Doesn't mean he can't move to another club???

OK so how is that going to happen if the Magpies want him and he is contracted?

Warren would be most welcome at The Parade IMHO, but a few ols Norwood players are looking at returning, and we wouldn't want to breach the Salary Cap again - it realy stuffed our season up this year ;) !

Re Westies zone: Flagstaff Hill and Happy Valley area is much closer to both Glenelg and South Adelaide FC.
Still cant believe years ago when I was still in high school that Salisbury got zoned to Port and Hope Valley to West Torrens :O
