Evening chaps!
A few things came out of the SAMCA delegate's meeting tonight that I can share with you.
Four representatives from C&CCA attended the meeting ; Ian Amey (President), Tom Kennison (Exec Member), Tommy K's 2L FUIC and yours truly..
The draw for the first knockout round in the Senior division of the SAMCA Cup occurred, with C&CCA drawing PDCA, with C&CCA as the host Association. It was announced that this match would be played on 13/2/11. This was not overly pleasing for our Association, as we are looking to get at least one SAMCA match in before the National Championships. As a result, negotiations are underway between ourselves and PDCA to play this match at a turf wicket venue on
12/12/10. We have verbally agreed in principle and I'm confident that the two Associations will successfully work together to make this happen. Special thanks to PDCA Exec Member, Peter Clarkson, for agreeing to try and re-negotiate the date of our first round match.
The draw for the U21's was not done on the night, but both C&CCA and PDCA are extremely keen to align the first round of the U21's with the Senior match within the same sporting complex. We have a venue in mind and we will begin work immediately to try and secure these facilities to accommodate this arrangement. Whereas the Senior SAMCA format is a knockout, the U21's will be a Round Robin format, ensuring the U21's of 3 matches, so it's vitally important for the young lads of our comp to support our re-entry into CUSA/SAMCA competition.
C&CCA also drew PDCA in the T20 Club slap-fest, with this match to occur on
28/11/10 between the winning Clubs from C&CCA and PDCA. As a matter of courtesy, and in light of our negotiations around the SAMCA match, we have agreed in principle to allow PDCA to host this match. The winner of this match and the winner of ATCA vs ASCA will play off at Adelaide Oval on
6/2/11. The winner of this match then plays off in the Metro vs Country Final, also to be played at Adelaide Oval (I didn't catch the date).
There were a few other things that came out of the meeting, but for inter-Association purposes, these are the most relevant points decided on the night.
