Ban Pakistan says Beefy

Former England skipper Ian Botham believes that Pakistan should be banned from International Cricket and I agree with him. If it was New Zealand this would already have happened IMO.

Yep, agreed.

Get out until the ship is in order. Have altered the way the World looks at sporting results - can't have a bad day without doubt being cast.

Totally ridiculous call to ban Pakistan.

The ICC should be arseholed from the scene as they've been totally inept at handling any issue thats arisen in the last 10 years.

How could the heirachy not notice some of the going-ons? They have everything going against them as far as world cricket is going. They can't play home tests, there is repeatedly innuendo everytime they play, enough is enough.
I find this unfortunate as they have always been one of my favourite teams and have produced some of my favourite all-time players, Imran Khan and Wasim Akram to name a couple.
Maybe a two year ban might teach them a lesson and get some law and order installed.

Whilst I think in principle I think banning Pakistan is a good idea, the chances of cricket being the subject of a terrorist attack would surely rise if the ICC decided to take this action.

I think what we will see though is that teams will play very short series against Pakistan in the future, or opt not to play them at all.

Nobody tours there now anyway, so I think you might find that their involvement in international cricket could be limited to T20's and a few ODI's, or in the worst case scenario - World Cup events only.

Can't see Cricket Australia welcoming them here for a tour on the scale as the one they had last year.

i think people on here are ( and most places) are far to over the top in their criticsim.

if you look at the facts it appears that amir and asif did deliberately bowl 3 no balls during a test match - a poor performance on their behalf and tehy definitely need to be sanctioned but there is no evidence whatsoever to back up the claims of the match fixing. all we have is the agent who is clearly a dodgy person saying the match in sydney was fixed - which he is going to say because it is an easy reference to give him some perceived credibility.

for example: if mal came to me tomorrow and wanted to fix a match australia were playing in i could say this quite easily - "yep i can do that for you - as proof i gave punter some money in the second test to bat first on a bowlers deck and make sure the team scored less than 100" both of these events are seemingly unlikely but they happened.

then there are calls after the games that pakistan won that they may have batted in a particular pattern to suggest more spot-fixing. this is also just a generalisation as the reason many people give for not wanting to watch 50 over cricket any more is because the team batting first always tries to do they same thing - score at 5 an over for the first 15 overs, then 4 an over for the next 25, then 8 an over for the last 10 to end up around the 250 mark. anyone who has seen one-day cricket knows thats the general pattern of scoring.

I agree.
That Sydney Test I don't think was fixed.
Australia played well, Hauritz bowled excellently on the last day and Hussey & Siddle's batting was outstanding.

Mohammed Asif's figures in the 2nd innings were 27-8-53-2, including the wicket of Siddle to end that partnership.
Hardly the numbers of a bloke trying to run dead.

The T20 in Melbourne however, when Pakistan somehow couldn't get 37 from 8 overs with two batters in and Watson and Steve Smith bowling.....looked a little fishy to me.

I think people are quicker to bemoan the effects of T20 on the game than corruption and cheating (ball tampering, at it again the other night). Kick the bastards to the kerb until they have sorted their shit out.
