Yes - I was cheering for Willunga as I know alot of people from Willunga FC - would have been happy for them to win 7 in a row.

I was cheering for Strath - 6 in a row is perfect, 7 is just greedy. ;)

Don't show your hand FOD!

Wasn't at the game Saturday but listened to it on ABC, great call and good to see them support amatuer football. As someone mentioned previously i think Strath have been the best team all year and probably deserved it. Fair bit of pressure on Mitch though....in the same circumstances i probably would have missed the lot.

Yetti, Any truth?

No truth at all re Mt Compass. Has not spoken or been in contact with Mt Compass.
Goolwa .....I doubt it.
Strong suggestion that a club in the SFL is very very interested in his services.

didnt see game either but also listened to it on ABC radio, when i heard mitch had taken the mark 30odd out on slight angle then heard siren go i thought mitch will kick this, shocked when they said he missed!! makes you think now that they lost how many players will retire (few over 30). also interesting Adam Carnivale only came on with 6 min to go in last qtr, was he injured i heard a rumor he pinned a hammy 2 wks ago at training

i had heard he had not been getting much game time and wasn't to happy about it anyway, but to leave any player on the bench for 3 and half quarters in any grade is just stupid if you ask me, surely he is a good enough midfielder to be rotated through out the day to give a couple of blokes a rest, and if he was picked and was injured well that just stupid as well, either way some mistakes were made and who knows could have been the 4 points difference.

Congrats to Jags and the willunga Reserves were the best team when it counted, and commiserations to Kieth and the strath reserves 3 years in a row would be hard to take
who ever thought of the saying winning isn't everything, probably lost!!

Go you roosters great win, terrific game by big duffield kicking the goal to get the lead back. Straths great local talent got them over the line with most city players having quiet days. Willunga adjusted to wet weather better than strath.Comiserations to willunga boys and portlock 6 in a row great effort but it was definately straths turn for success. Has been a big few days for the strath boys went thru 4 kegs yesterday at the commercial plus more lot's of op shop outfits, great weekend. Definately more fun winning.

Boys just having fun after a long year. Might of been a bit loud but no one was harmed in the process. Yes Yetti i heard one of the boys (who doesn't play footy at Pongy) on the bus was ommitted :partyman: due to one to many cordials.

i thought the lads were great value... country footy has plenty of personalities and that's what makes it so great!! Nothing new to people who have been involved in post season footy celebrations... PLAY ON!!!
The greats weren't great because at birth they could paint,
The greats were great because they paint a lot.

Personally I didnt see any dramas I thought the boys were quite funny and added a bit of colour. Having Ryan Faggoter behind the bar certainly drew in the customers, sales increased 2 fold with him in charge but I did hear a whisper that one of the boys got in to a scuffle with a Strath players father. I think security have taken it up with the club / league but wouldnt expect it to be too major

B grade Willunga outfit would easily account for some of the lower finishing A grade sides in GSFL and SFL.
Two great clubs who have dominated the comp for last 10 years without paying out big $$ for recruits. All the other teams should look at their models and learn from them.
Well done to Victor with two premierships in the young brigade must hold them in good stead for the future, would've been an early version of schoolies!
Hopefully they can turn them into good senior footballers as other clubs have had strong juniors in the past but didn't devlope them or just not good enough to step up to A grade footy.

dont worry willunga pay and strath pay more!
