2010 Brownlow Medal Count - Live scores *SPOILER ALERT*

Woohoo, sensational!! :D

Other than adding a fair stack to the wallet, obviously only special players in history get remembered as triple medallists and IMHO Juddy fits that bill.

Obviously Swan and Gaz are great players too and I feel for them with the expectations the media heap on them before a night like that, hopefully they both get the chance in the future.

Swan looked like a spoilt brat that had his toy taken away. Then straight on to his phone and looked to be txt’n. What a sore loser.

Well done Judd a humble winner.

Also Twiggers interview was the most incisive football talk all night....

She could teach Quarterbrain a thing or two......

A Footballing mercenary that was lured to salary cap cheats by a corporate criminal. Eye gouged a player in last year's finals and elbowed Pavlich this season (luckily that isn't suspendable for some reason). There were no winners tonight.

1. He wanted to go home.
2. Carlton's backers and administrators weren't his fault.
3. He served his suspension for the gouging incident.
4. Probably lucky with the Pavlich hit.
5. A humble and well spoken winner.

Bitter much?

... even though he's only won 2.

He won't make 3 because the umpires made fools of themselves last night and will mark him far harder in future.

I feel the same way. I think Judd's win has done the football world a favour by opening their eyes to the fact that the Brownlow Medal is a farce. It's no longer relevant.

Judd 30, Hodge 16 ... umpires are wanting us to believe Judd had twice the season Hodge did? I don't think so. Even Judd himself said his season wasn't good enough to win ... he's right.

The brownlow has been a farce since wanganeen won it in 1993 after Greg Williams in the final round had 40 plus possessions and didn't poll a vote and lost by a couple. I reckon suck it up and get on with it cos it's in the books and history.

I think- Swan was nervous as all ****, as the Media made him a red hot favourite, & he didn't look comfortable dealing with the pressure.

I really don't understand this line of thinking from people. Not sure how much of Judd's season many people saw, but he was clearly, far and away, the best player on the ground a number of occasions, for both influence and workrate. Bear in mind that Carlton don't have a lot of big bodies to protect him, so he has to go and get his own football - he hasn't got many to farm it out to him. Breaks the lines, wins the ball and uses it well much of the time (acknowledging the Geelong game in round 21 when he torched it continually), in a team that played finals.

For my mind, a very deserving winner.

I really don't know what relevance the numbers of possessions has, otherwise Brett James could have won three Magareys and Simon Atkins a Brownlow. It's how the ball is used, not how many times it's won by the player. Agree that Swan seems destined not to win one, which is disappointing for a player who does win a lot of footy, but if the numbers of possessions are used as a barometer, that can be a bit dangerous at times.
