hahaha I tried !! When the auctioneer went looking for first bids I even waited a bit to bring on the tension of the moment. Only problem was that I was tensing myself !! :lol:

You can be lucky, and wait and see what happens is a good strategy at auctions.
In January 2009 I went to two auctions in Stirling at which nobody bid.
I waited for the eventual vendors bids and the passing in then talked to the agents about prices below the vendor's bids.
I did sign a contract on one of them but "cooled off" on it when I found a better deal elsewhere the next day.
Currently, prices up here seem to be over-inflated again as usual, but sales are slowing once more.
Brace for the next slump as interest rates rise soon.
