Has any club ever won an SANFL premiership from fifth spot? (since the current finals system was introduced)

Norwood 1984 is the only one.

Port only other to win from Elimination final (they were 4th though) in 1998.

The 1984 grand final was a cracker between Norwood & Port.
I will never forget the mark on the wing by Keith Thomas.

1984 I rank 2nd GF only to the '78 game.

All week leading up to the game... Norwood FC would answer the phone "History Makers '84"

Balmey & Evans in the square during the anthem... GOLD !!!!

Torrens won the 2s as well !!! 8)
Stephen Trigg & Rob Chapman are SA Football Patriots

Off the top of my head, reakon these teams have made the GF from the Elim...

Norwood - 1980, 1984*, 1993, 1999.
Glenelg - 1982, 1987, 1988, 1992.
West - 1991.
Port - 1998*.

*Premiers.

Add Glenelg 1974 to that list as well
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

What's intriguing is that when 5th has gone past the Semi Finals, they have always made the Grand Final.

Norwood in 1980
Norwood in 1984
West in 1991
Norwood in 1999

All the other 5th positions lost the 1st Semi or the Elimination.
