Dont get it right all that often so going to give myself a pat on the back here. Alot of Geelong players have just looked a step off the pace this year: Milburn, Ling, Ottens, Mooney & most importantly of all Scarlett. On top of that Lonergan just wasnt up to replacing Harley and Josh Hunt really struggled to contain the elite small forwards.

Geelong have been great to watch the last 3 years but all good things have to come to an end unfortunately.

Don't get upset dude. I replied to the post about them looking slow and Johnson looked slow in the prelim along with 50% of your side.

Last one out, turn out the lights please

Cos he got stuck into Ablett about a lack of loyalty and praised Selwood for displaying loyalty. If he jumps ship to join the Bombers he is a hypocrite.

LOL. You know, the guy who broke our premiership drought. An excellent development coach (which is why the Bombers should be after him after all) who brought a young group through to be the finest squad in the land for about three years in a row. A lot of misguided individuals often say 'I could have coached Geelong during that period' but remember when he arrived at Geelong we were in a worse spot than Essendon are now. They are just bleating about it more becuase they aren't used to it.

In the end if the guy has not got his heart into the job you are no worse off without him. Even if he ends up at the Bombers I would still rather be on the Cats than the Bombers for some success in 2011. IMO the cats were a tackle/kick from playing in a GF against Collingwood this year, had the goal against the Saints been allowed you would be there no doubt, not sure how you would have gone but still think you were the 2nd best side in 2010.

It will be interesting to see how we go next year. A lot will depend on what moves we make during the off season. Judging by some of the talk online on various sites people seem to think that all of a sudden we will become easybeats. We've had a truckload full of negatives in the last few weeks but next year perhaps coaches won't be putting so much time into Geelong. Naturally no coach ever underestimates any opponent but I believe the videos this summer will feature St Kilda and particularly Collingwood heavily.

I still believe our quick play on game style is good enough to defeat Collingwood and St Kilda's 'press' but we continually selected slower players this season instead of following the Pies example. O'Bree, Lockyer, Presti, Fraser were often left out of the side and guys like Blair, Ried, McAffer and Wellingham all prospered. This season Duncan, Menzel and Taylor Hunt were left out as soon as guys like Joel Corey, Darren Milburn or Cameron Ling were ready to go. Now we have lost our quickest midfielder it is time to release Varcoe into the midfield and give Menzel or Duncan a go up forward. It could also be a time to make Stokes and Byrnes fight it out for the one spot as they are not consistent enough and don't apply the required amount of forward pressure.
