Yup Iron fist that sure was me at Old Iggys. I had to leave the pink sunnies on the head coz it was too dark to wear them :? I had no luck selling budgets at the beginning of the D7 game (as i expected), but once all the portland people rocked up i seriously sold 15 in less then 5 minutes... so THANK YOU :D I did sell one budget to a guy who gave me a $1 coin. It was too embarassing to point it out to him so i gave him the discount  (i took the 5 remaining budgets to brahma with me). I was planning on saying hi to you portland boys from the forum... but i have no idea who any of you are so i was hoping you would say something to me, lol

NM, i'm not sure if we are talking about the same club, but i would like to express my extreme disappointment in a certain Divvy1 western suburbs club that accused the girls of lying when they told them who they were and what they were there for. I did not appreciate receiving a phone call from the two young (LOCAL) girls who were quite shaken by it.

Anyhooooo... UPDATE!!!

I'm currently in Melboune with the girls. They have played two games so far... AND WON BOTH! They beat QLD is overtime by one point, and smashed the melbourne development team. If all goes to plan we will be representing SA in the inaugural AFL U18 National Youth Girls GRAND FINAL... i'll keep you posted :d

Yes i am talking about the same club, DISGRACEFUL..

Anyway keep up the good work over there girls.

good to hear all our boys got behind it. When me and the other guys got ours, you would have sold about 10 at the click of ya fingers! We were the blokes standing in the pocket. Dunno what happened with one of the boys buying one for a $1. I had to get someone else to buy me one as I only had big notes.

Thats a shame that the whatever club your talking about had a go at the girls!

good work to the young girls aswell. keep up the good work!

Honey i'm home! \:D/ (no thanks to a certain person who drank too much at the Div4 final during the day, so he had to get his parents to pick me up instead  haha)

We got back on Saturday night after a very long week in Melbourne. The girls played 3 games in the minor rounds... AND WON ALL 3!!!

Day 1- SA def QLD
Day 2- SA def AFL VIC Development
Day 3- SA def ACT/ NSW

SA finished on 3 wins along with VIC and WA... and ended up playing off for 3rd and 4th due to percentage. The girls fought hard in the final, however ended up losing to QLD to finish up 4th overall

In more exciting news, SA is the State with the most girls chosen into the All Star (All Australian) team. Congratulations to;

Brittany Perry (Co-captain); Central District WFC
Teena Leicester (Co-captain); Greenacres WFC
Caitlin Williams; Morphettville Park WFC
Georgia Bevan; Morphettville Park WFC
Caitlyn Swanson; Port Adelaide WFC
Rebecca Catterall; Port Adelaide WFC

Also, congratulations to Stephanie Morrison from SA for being recognised by the AFL as the Umpire of the Championships.

Back to the topic now… this Saturday will be the last day this year where we will be out in force again selling the budgets. Please give generously in support of the local women’s league, in order to continue the great success seen at National level. We really, really appreciate everything you have all done for us so far :d

hahaha, i knew what you meant LM. It's all good :D

She actually prefers her cricket... which she announced infront of the whole league while accepting her Best U18 Player award :)) ... it's great to find players like Brittany who are so skillful that they are able to succeed as such a high level in numerous sports.

If anyone knows of any talented youngsters who excel in another sport that would be interested in a high level of footy please pm me.

This summer we will again be holding our U18 academy, as well as an Inaugural U16 Academy. 2011 will see the Inaugural U16 National School Girls Championships. We would love to find some hidden talent for the team to take away and represent the state as successfully as the U18's did.

ps, has anyone been counting how many times i've said Inaugural  ... as you can see, Female Footy is really only just starting to take off. Just imagine where it will be in a few years time  and you can all say you were there to help us along the way :d

I coached the Salisbury U13's so i saw plenty of the U13 games so it's awesome to see the skill even at such a young age.

I saw a few of the U16's (considering i'm the SANFL Female Footy Development Officer i should've watched alot more than i did  ) ... from what i saw though, OMG! As soon as those girls turn 16 i give them my 'Captain of Centrals Speech' and will be getting them out to us sooner than you can say... ummm, something that you say quickly  haha.

The general skill development of the girls at that age is outstanding, and with more training will be of great use to our academys and state teams. Our Centrals team will definitely benefit from these girls coming up through the system... i can't wait :d

Did Leah Tynan play in the state side? I think she plays footy for Greenacres. Loads of talent in that girl.

Leah was in the academy with me last year. She played for Greenacres for the first time this year, and had a great year. I think she was 1 year too old for the state team... but she would've definitely made it in if she was young enough.

She's a very talented athlete... who can kick 40 meters on her left and right  :D

hahaha, yes she feels terrible about having to leave. It was thought well in advance that she may possibly come home early for her yr11 presentation ball (yr11 ball at trinity is more important that yr12 formal... so i've heard 8) )

Her mum and i actually made the decision for her as she didnt want to have to miss out on either. Please nobody tell her this, but if she had have stayed the final score may have been very different and we may have finished 3rd. She makes such an impact on the field, and the girls really missed her out there on the day. She feels guilty enough already, so be nice to her please if she is out there selling budgets with us on Saturday...

...if you do want to say anything to her, ask her how she feels about making me get up at 5am to take her to the airport Saturday morning :-P haha
