Congrats to the Fitzroy u14's side who rolled the unbeaten Eastern Park to take out the flag.
Coached by an old Tassie boy in Jarred Chipman & Long time Roy player Ben Stewart.
Team was in a bit of strife early with numbers, 7 boys playing a year up & even had to use 11yo's in the early rounds to make up the numbers.
Good recruiting drive & a lot of determination.(& a big thanks from this poster whose son was one of the 11yo's who was rewarded with a spot on the bench & a medal)

the game was a thriller too.

I also agree that salisbury did a great job of hosting and despite the results (from my point of view), it was a great day all round

Well done everyone involved at Pooraka for a great season. The lads must be enjoying themselves, saw my boy for an hour yesterday when he come home to change for mad monday and hasn't got out of bed today. He told me a funny story though, they went to the old lion on sunday night and the GG boys turned up. Apparently they didn't hang around long, didn't like having medals waved in thier faces. So glad he got to experience this, best thing that can happen in footy, winning a flag with your mates.

Not really sure about the knee's of fury. johnno? What are you actually saying? i was involved in most festivities from the final siren to waking up bleary eyed this morning after a long night at the tattoo parlour and i don't remember any "Knee's of fury" i found all the boys were very happy with the win, if there was any feedback thrown towards GG people at the lion it was probably a little over the top, but Certain GG Supporters who were bragging about how fast GG were and how much fitter to each other at someones workplace would have egg on their face as unbeknownst to them they were making these comments in front of one our A-Grade boys who couldn't believe what he was hearing and duly reported back to our boys. So if our celebrations were a little over the top, it's probably because we were written off by some oppostion supporters, Word to the wise - Wait to win it before you mouth off !!

you all telling me that if the opposition walked in the same pub your in after 24 hours of celebrating you would be all gracious about it and give them a hug, i would have broke out the club song straight away. As for the knee incident that only you seem to be going on about Jonno, get over it or go and play netball, it was a grand final mate, maybe your boys should have been as hard.

Farmer I have seen plenty of other teams that have been gracious winners even with a gutful of grog in them. Obviously "Winners are grinners" enjoy the moment and a successful season but to rub the opposition noses in it says more about the victors than the losers. Call me old fashioned - I still think sportsmanship and humility are wonderful attributes - perhaps not shared by some.

Kneeing someone in the head isn't being hard farmer.... maybe thats the way they did it back in the old days at Ingle Farm because they knew no better but the game doesn't need it and a team up by 10 goals doesn't need to do it.

agree the kneeing wasnt called for, but i wonder how the incident started. me thinks a GG player took flattened Kane Moore after he took a mark to line up for his 8th goal, that was a pathetic effort from that player. always the case of it takes two to tango.

anyway as a former player of the bulls, you done yourself and the club proud. should of won by 80pts , totally out classed GG in every way. ditts, nubbo and Frank Scott i take my hat off to you 3, you all have hung around in the hard times when anything could of happened to this great club without your hard work the club wouldnt of been able to achieve what they did. and wattsy gotta love you mate.

i should go play netball becuase i dont agree that a guy should get kneed in the head?
well my humblest apologies .....

i totally agree all the late hits after marks werent called for and shouldnt happen.
but that doesnt give idiots the right to go around and knee guys in the head.

i cannot wait to play u guys next year....
gonna be a good rivalry from now on... obviously we cant tak the flag off ya.
but the battle will always be good ones

and can anyone else here tell me how kneein someone in the head in a footy match hard....???

"Long time reader, small time poster" gotta get a couple of things of my chest. IMO

Golden Grove supporters have a habit of shooting there mouth of far to much before a game, during a game and after a game. When they get challenged on their over zealous comments they draw back to passion and say it was in the heat of battle. As for a knee in the head, get over it, it sounds like it was in retalliation for a late hit and the person kneeing was penalized for his actions, the lad kneed wasnt seriously hurt I believe so what more do you want?

Very ripe of them accusing Pooraka of bad sportsmanship, we dragons could share some stories of bad sportmanship. Lets not go there GG, be gracious now and swallow the pill you have been dished up, paybacks dont come in the form of words it happens on the field so man up and prepare for next year. If Pooraka havent acted correctly "as far as you can see", its called fuel to help fire up next year. Every little misdameanor doesnt need to be plastered all over town or forums, you need to keep a pretty clean ship if you want to fire bullets at every other club. Actions of a small few can always be used against footy club and none of us can control the actions of every person on any given day.

GG look to be in great position, the coach looks to be a quality person and coach and with an ebundance of youth at their disposal the future is bright, so zip up and enjoy the future, instead of whinging about everything that doesnt fall your way. In saying that the club seems to be a good club and the players on field are quality people as a whole and play good footy.

Well done Pooraka, proof is in the pudding, best team in 2010. Again on a whole a quality club and group of players.

Sour grapes griffin..... You blokes have cried foul over both your finals losses. We didn't. We haven't got on here and bleated about how good we are or anything like that. Well I don't think we have and if we did it was purely with tongue in cheek. We got on here after the GF's and admitted we were spanked, admitted Pooraka were far too good and trudged off with our tails between our legs looking towards 2010. We have never bagged the Pooraka club or any other club along the way and never mentioned bad sportsmanship. I feel we have accepted the defeats very graciously. Fair enough we mentioned a kneeing incident but I think anyone would have if they were on the receiving end. We didn't menton some punches that were thrown because thats finals footy and the heat of the battle.

Feel free to pm the instances of bad sportsmanship that you believe have happened. Yes our clubs have had some ding dong battles and we have built up a healthy rivalry and respect so to say we are bad sports reeks of sour grapes from you pal...
