Columbo, who do you think watches shows like "A Current Affair" and "Today Tonight"?
I know for a fact that both the stories and advertising on ACA are deliberately skewed towards the lower middle and low end of the socio economic scale.
Their reasoning is that these groups are most likely to be home watching TV at 6:30pm on a weeknight,
compared to the Higher end of the scale who are either still working or out and about enjoying their success.
Traceys questions are designed to be simple, because :
1) The producers believe that if you belong to the lower end of the scale and have
nothing better to do at 6:30 pm than watch television, you must be stupid.
2) Following that logic, in the producers eyes simple questions allow the majority of the audience to keep up with the interview.
I'm not saying everyone who watches ACA is stupid because I think that's a ridiculous assumption to make. Unfortunately,
the powers that be believe it and the patronising attitude of the show comes from them.
Whilst Tracey has some input over what questions she asks, she pretty much does what the producers tell her to
and for the kind of coin she gets for doing it, I probably would too!
And FC, I can assure you that Tracey has Never had "work done"
