- Central v Norwood in finals overal record from 8 games played, Norwood lead with 3 wins to the Dogs 5

- The last final that Central and Norwood played against each other was back in the 1997 Preliminary Final, Norwood got up by 11 points in that one

- These 2 sides have clashed 26 times at AAMI / Football Park with Central having won just 7 of them while Norwood have the other 19 victories

- Central is the only side in the competition that Norwood have not yet played in a Grand Final against

- Overall win/loss ratio for total games played from 119 games between these 2 sides to date is - Norwood 62 wins, Central 57

Huh? Norwood LEAD with 3 wins to the Dogs 5? Lucky you're not a scoreboard attendant mate! :D ;)

This post reads like you are trying to set the Dogs up as underdogs, yet all the while you are affirming how much the Dogs (or at least you ;) )want to play Norwood in a GF. Time will tell but the Bays are lurking and trying to lull everyone else in to a false sense of security.

We haven't played South mate.

I think he is saying Norwood have played every other team in a GF except Central.

Yep, apologies. Must have had the red, white and blue eye looking at that.

In three of their last four minor finals Centrals have been down for the count, but through their persistence and either some poor play or other foolishness those other sides have not finished them off. Norwood, IMO, yesterday played with just as much, if not, better intensity, speed and hardness than Centrals opposition on those days.
Perhaps Norwood did the training load regime a month ago, and this is wht their results faltered around this time?
Norwood, for me, 23 points.

Time for this streak to be broken!

Out of the wilderness and into breaking their reign!

Norwood by 5 goals!

DOGLEGDOWN GAME 1
NW 9-15
CD 9-12
What a game, great skills, tackling was awesome
It was a great standard one if the best home and away games Ive seen for a while
NW got up, further announcing they had arrived in 2010
CD were gallant, one team had to lose, it ended up being the dogs
From this game SPURRed the infamous BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGATE saga
The 50/50 unpiring descisions slightly helped the legs that day

DOGLEGDOWN GAME 2
CD 9-10
NW8-8
Both sides in good lead up form
NW going for 4 wins in a ROWE
CD got within 24 points of ST at Unley, a good effort for them
Doglegdown 1 was a great standard
Doglegdown 2 was ordinary
Both sides had below standard skills this game
The intensity was ok but not at the doglegdown 1 level
NW delivery to the forwards was abyssMAL too often
CD deserved to win, NW were prob flattered to get so close in the end
The 50/50 umpiring favoured the legs

DOGLEGDOWN 3 ?
NW yet to conquer CD on the big grounds
CD fresh from a week off
Contrary to what ive read GL did play tough last week, this might take the sting out of the legs this week
CD 17 POINTS

It will be a concern. However it will come down to opportunities and "ball use". If we can hit targets, ensuring the ball doesn't hit the ground too often then it may negate some of their leg speed. Stats can mislead, critically it will be "effective possessions."

The week off is a huge advantage, wouldn't be surprised to see a close game up until the half way mark of the 3rd qtr before the dogs pile on the goals in the last and end up winning by a comfortable 10 goals or so.

Norwood will be a real test for the Dogs. They are one of the few sides that can constantly match us, signified by the myriad of close games between the two sides over the past 3 seasons.

However, on the bigger ground, and with Centrals exceptional 2nd semi final record, Centrals will have the stronger nerve, slightly stronger skills and slightly more potent forward line to get over the line.

On a side note, this will mean the only side Centrals hasn't faced off against in a final since 2000 is South, and 5th different 2nd semi opponent in the past 6 seasons!
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Should tune into 5RPH or LifeFM who call the SANFL the whole season, not just show up for the finals ;)

Contrary to some views above, I don't think that leg speed was the main contributing factor to this great win by the legs.

I thought that their tackling and their ability to maintain their defensive structure even in the last quarter when they were tiring and Glenelg were pressing.

As a non-aligned spectator I thought that was the most impressive performance that I had seen in a final (non-dog final) for a long time.

I think that Sunday will be a real test for the dogs - am loooking forward to another tight Norwood-doggies match :D
We used to be good :-(

Remember it clearly.

Tim Cook scored the greatest goal I have ever seen at Football Park, which put us 2 points down with a minute or so to go. Was yet another heartbreaking moment for Centrals fans in that era!
