Certainly feel as though playing the games at Adelaide Oval is more attractive to neutral supporters. Better location and far better atmosphere.

Whats wrong with AAMI for our finals ??????

No problems getting a good seat and they let you park at the venue for nothing, so there's not too much more they could do.
- Also if you couldnt scrounge up a Members ticket that wasnt being used enabling free entry, then you didnt try too hard ;) ;)

Rather the games at AAMI.

Adelaide Oval can barely cater for a crowd of more than 5000.

I was there rather to early (normal for me I know ;) ) was the third car in the public car park.
Watched both the U18's game and the Eagles game .Couldn't stay for the late game but enjoyed the last quarter of the u18's(west actually played a great running game only in that quarter) and all 4 of the league game.
Of course backed up Saturdays double header at Noarlunga !!

$14 for sunday and Saturday cost me $2 to park and with my seasons ticket got in for free. ;)

Actually I didn't try for a free members ticket.I'm superstitious every time I sit in the members the Eagles lose a finals game.

Well i think the SANFL worst nightmare is the Eagles making and winning finals games .

Was very, very disappointed with the lack of crowd.

11.5k, very poor given the PERFECT weather, no AFL, plenty of teams with big crowd support. Was expecting 15k.

The domination of one club for a decade goes a fair way to diminish interest in the competition.
Is the SANFL dying. Slowly but surely. And an Adelaide Oval wont solve the problem

Off course the crowds were down
Heres my hypothesis

EG barrackers were scared to roll up after the same team smashed them the week b4
ST barrackers didnt roll up as they were seeded against a team that finished below them on the ladder, and teams on the ladder below em have knocked them off too often in 2010
NW barrackers didnt know how to find the oval
GL barrackers didnt roll up becoz off the thought of losing another game at this venue

You're very generous, personally I think they struggle with anything above 2000.

Home Finals @ suburban grounds ???

Unley & Bay last week.
5000 @ Unley
6000 @ Bay

Still 11,000

Bay & Elizabeth this week.
5000 @ Bay
6 to 7000 @ Elizabeth

What about Underlights on Friday & Saturday Nights? - Norwood & Richmond
Bays & Eagles @ Norwood
Legs & Dogs @ Richmond

Not sure I know the answer.

Glenelg v Norwood GF = 30 + K
Norwood v Centrals GF = almost 30 K
Centrals v Glenelg = almost 30 K
Anyone v Eagles = < 26 K
Stephen Trigg & Rob Chapman are SA Football Patriots

To put this in some context following is the Elimination / Qualifying Final crowds over the past 7 years

2010 @AAMI 11,449 (dh)
2009 @ AAMI 10,192 (dh)
2008 @ Adelaide 15,825 (dh)
2007 @ Adelaide 11,487 (dh)
2006 @ Adelaide 11,222 (dh)
2005 @ Adelaide 9.434 (dh)
2004 @ Adelaide 11,842 (dh)

As you can see relative to previous years it was a pretty "average" Finals Week One crowd.

Only one of the crowds was way above Sunday's this was when Norwood, Port, Central & Sturt all played at the same day.

From a personal perspective I think AAMI Stadium probaly draws 2-3K less than Adelaide Oval but the SANFL has no choice this year as per 2009.

The only issue for mine is that given the 3 games, the max crowd at any one time during a game is probably 7K which looks very small at AAMI.

Nor can AAMI when the SANFL leaves most of the bars and amenities closed.

Probably would have thought about going along had it not been at footy park, personally I avoid the place as much as possible, very hopefully that Centrals have a win this week for obvious reasons, but only having to venture to footy park twice rather than 3 times is another huge positive a victory will bring about.

I reckon inviting back the Sturt dancing girls and the girl filming the Eaglettes for bitch fight #2 as half time entertainment would get the crowds in.

Anyone who doesn't go to Football Park because it's a little bit inconvenient aren't true footy fans anyway. I think it's a great venue to watch footy from - except for the first five rows, and you have two screens to view replays from depending on where you are.
