Congrats to the Hawks and Roos, following only via this Forum this season the Hawks seem to have been too good for nearly all comers all season, si I'd assume it was a thoroughly deserved win today.

To the boys at Locks, commiserations on todays efforts, going up a div is still something to be very proud of and hopefully most if not all of the lads are back together next year trying to get that one step better.

Oh, and thanks to Jabber and Chutney for score updates.

Well done to West Croydon. A fantastic second quarter set them up. They were cleaner in the packs, and their HB line was as tight as a drum. Their forward worked well together too.

A good game played in good spirit I though too. Crowd about 50/50 IMO.

Well that explains alot. I was there today and Mickan could not get a kick to save himself. West Croydon were far too strong and much more polished with their disposal. I'm not sure what happened to the real Lockleys today, they just didn't give a wimper. I think the best team during the whole year won the flag. I must say one thing though, number 23 for West Croydon is the most pathetic, gutless player I have seen for a long time. And please before the West Croydon people abuse me, I am not a Lockleys person BUT in the first quarter number 23 did so much late sh#t behind the play it was embarrasing and then when he got hit slightly high he would be whinging about it. He is the sort of player that gives West Croydon a bad name. You were pathetic 23, absolutely pathetic. Mate if you played any wider, you'd be selling hot dogs in the grand stand.

Looked like it might be a belter of a game in the first 1/4 with both teams moving the ball well and no easy kicks. Locks went to sleep in the 2nd and it was all over, 11 goals straight to WC.

What looked like a 15-20 goal win at some stage was stopped by Locks who matched WC in the 2nd half but the damage was done in the 2nd. WC clearly the better team on the day and their game plan/strategies looked stronger over all, they played a couple of players loose a kick behind the play all day and any blazing out of defence by Locks was sent back pretty quick.

Thought the umpiring was fantastic, obviously higher grade umpires but they let is go all day, and probably wouldnt have paid more than 20 free kicks.

Took some photos will put them up later.

What is the diagnosis on Cooper? I noticed he came off with a severe shoulder injury in the 3rd term.

the diagnosis is a stiff neck for holding his premiership medal and some leather poisoning from the rest of the year. He looked ok in Dutchys pics...

congrats to scotty and his boys breaking a 104 year old drought for the kookas in div6r..never in doubt..enjoy it lads :) :partyman:

as for the A grade game..fairly lacklustre after lockleys jumped out at the start looking good going 3-1 up but from there it was the bad lockleys who came out to play..smashed across half forward and full forward they were continually rebounded on with cooper BOG till he went of with a shoulder injury..WC kicked 12 in a row till lockleys got one back and finally showed some spirit to play out a fairly even last 40 minutes of the game..losing hall at half time was a dire blow to the demons who only had martinello left as a genuine tall..stubberfields 3 goal burst in the second quarter put the game beyond the demons right then..i thought best for the hawks were davies then stubberfield and maybe the #1 who gave a mickan a bath..cooper was clinical till he went off..still a great achievement to get promoted lockleys..but you will have to recruit some height and marking power to go with your good midfield as your forward line didnt show up yesterday and division 5 is a tough gig..as for the hawks they showed my tip to be a total contradiction..to smooth and well drilled all day..deserving winners who will also have to recruit for next year..a back up ruck for vesalli and a big backman would fit the bill :)

No one is perfect especially myself, however luke does seem to be involved in more than his fair share and always with someone a little smaller  on the flipside he usually recieves a free kick for the retaliation due to the umpires delayed reaction :?

Congratulations WC on a top year well played. bad luck lockley's regroup and learn from the heartache as from experience it pops into the mind on nightly basis for sometime..........harness it and use it.
