A letter of complaint should be lodged by GFC as players and a trainer were spat on, and supporters were allowed onto the oval near players race allowing GFC staff and players to be harrassed whilst trying to leave the arena.
Was a crap way to end mnor round for the Bays, but finals start next week:-)

Desperate footy by both sides in atrocious conditions Bays received heaps of help from the men in white, very soft frees given that resulted in 3 goals for the Bays, by my count 33 frees for Bays, 18 frees for Dogs will check the stats tomorrow and get back to ya !!!!

Major scorers were

Havelberg 4 goals

Umpires 3 goals

Dogs 2 goals

Glenelg 0 goals

Gutsy win by the Dogs of War !!!
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Hit em hard let them get up and hit em again.

Glenelg looked as though they were in a very strong position to score and after sprinting about 80m at full pace against 2 Glenelg opponents, Sibenaler put on a desperate smother on an Alex Grima kick inside the Bays 50.

As Roy Laird said back at presentations, it is things like that as to why the club is happy to fly Evil down to be back in the league side.

crikey! didnt know elizabeth oval was that long, what is it phil, 500 or so metres long according to your story

Not sure of the result but from what I saw it didn't look good at all.

We can only hope the best for the gentleman in question.

Well deserved win to Central but most people would be able to appreciate that having only 1 on the bench to play with for over a half doesn't help much in those conditions, and then 2 others on the ground in the last quarter who shouldn't have been out there.

Firstly I would like to extend congratulations to Glenelg supporters for turning up in droves yesterday in the atrocious conditions. I thought their voice was excellent and actually just about outdid ours with support.
A good solid win by our boys - an effort in which I thought all players committed themselves well and showed spirit and courage. Hard to pick out best players as it was pretty hard to even pick up who was who on the other side of the ground. However, I would have to commend Havelberg for standing up and being the best forward on the ground. Four strong marks leading to four goals in those conditions showed that Daniel does have what it takes to perform in important matches. Hats off also to 'Pumpa' Sutherland who showed a lot of commitment to the cause. He WILL be a player of the future. Also great to have 'Evil' Sibenaler back in the team, displaying his great defensive skills. A good return also by Jack Gunston who showed that playing well for Central is important to him even after the end of the AFL season. It was also good to see that our best players list in the Sunday Mail was very much full of players returning to the side from injury or interstate over the past couple of weeks. Good returns by all.
Well done, too, to the Ressies for sealing their spot in the five. The value of having the full squad training together in the leadup to the finals cannot be underestimated. Also, to make the finals from where they were a third of the way through the season was quite an achievement.
Cheers

Really great game of local football yesterday.

Both side were ultra competitive, theres no way you could say one team was more committed than another.

I thought Havelberg was the difference between the sides his ability to take a few grabs when no one else could even pick the ball up. On Thursday i wouldnt have been to disappointed had he been dropped, once again i was wrong and Lairdys faith in him paid off big time.

Sutherland was great as well, and loved his 'pumpa' of the fists to the bays supporters after the game. He was probably the best big man on the ground and showed why Central rushed him back into the side.

For the Bays, Allan was great, my favourite opposition player to watch, his toughness and ability to win the hard ball is currently the best in the SANFL.

Loved the end tiff with Gowans vs Carr, there will be a sequel no doubt.

Absolutely...

Now Glenelg fans... I can't help but feel you've let yourself down big time... and us... the last thing any of the other 3 clubs, presuming we're one of them, needed was the Doggies getting another weeks break leading into the finals.

For some reason Sturt has managed to overcome the fear of playing the Doggies and we win half the time of late, but the Bays seem to really struggle getting their act together, surely there's a psychological problem here?

Once again, I fear, the Doggies are going into the finals knowing that they have their closest rival licked. I don't think I'm big noting Sturt when I say the Doggies don't have that same level of confidence when playing us.

Bays fans?

Doggies fans?

Have to agree with you, CSBowes. The team we would least prefer to play in the finals would be Sturt. However, any of Glenelg, Norwood, the Eagles and even West can beat us on their day. It should be a great finals series.

I remember reading this in an AdelaideNow article last monday and thought i'd share.

Pretty damn hilarious!
I sure do hope 'Mark Newell' has a Sa Footy account!

"Once again 100% and 4/4 for the third successive week with my selections. Well Done Roosters for proving me correct. Sturt did another job on the Bulldogs and it down, down, down Central from here. Norwood's shocking hoodoo at Glenelg Oval continued. The Tigers can't beleive their luck getting that Minor Premiership from the Dogs. They are one step closer to a Grand Final and Premiership. Well Done Tigers. Central are gone! Finished, history and will not win another game this season. Out in straight sets. Some glaring troubles Central has is that Callinan is well down on his early season form. The Dogs have a rickety and slow forward line. Where's Matt Westhoff? Too late now! Why did Jarrod Schiller get dropped from this side? 8-10 Bulldog players look just too bad at the moment and it's the experienced players letting the team down. Their League Careers are over. I think more Glenelg supporters will attend the Elizabeth Oval this weekend, than Doggies fans. Central may be playing at home, but it won't sound like it Saturday. Expect a big victory to the Bays."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

HA!
