yeah they've fired up now, they'll be right. Good to see the Saints playing some decent finals footy though - they've been hot and cold all year and if they don't make a serious effort now they'll miss their chance.

THe spirit of the game has died with the hands in the back rule. I am quite certain of this. I watched recently a game, North Melbourne v Footscray, from 1999, and it was a ripper of a game. The last couple of years I haven't been able to give a f*** about AFL games and I was thinking that money had killed off the game but seeing that flashback match put it all in perspective - there was money around in the 90s too and that game was a classic. Reminded me why i followed the AFL with such fanaticism in highn school. So i have concluded it is the hands in the back rule. It really has ruined the game. I can accept reluctantly that the shirtfront has gone for ever but for f***'s sake this new rule has to be revoked unless we all want to be watching national touch football competition in the future...
