hi all
i know the hfl community have been waiting on my opinions re this decision and i can tell you the vman is at damn near boiling point!!!
this is one of the all time boners from owens merry bunch of boffins down at hfl headquarters that has left me completely bewildered!!!
i can tell you i am looking into legal action after cancelling a potentially hugely profitable business trip this weekend to go and watch the mighty RAIDERS junior and senior colts this sunday. i even had my damn black piping hot beanie professionally dry cleaned and have been frothing at the mouth all week to just get out there in the elements with the next generation!
these are the conditions where the true warriors come out to play and where the real stars are born.
also things are not much better on the home front. as dusk falls my home town of verdun could potentially be wiped clean off the map! i have ordered my wife and son (both in tears) to flee to higher ground while i plan to see out the night in the barn. i have been using all sorts of techniques to try and reach my beloved hilux which is resembling some kind of damn military issue submarine! and the icing on this bitter cake... my lucky everlasting cap was whisked clean off my pill by on wave of white water and was last seen speeding towards onkaparinga valley at a rate of knots!!!
RAIDERS till I DIE (hopefully not tonight)!!!

This would be the biggest debacle of all time if finals games were postponed. Onka Valley a good option, RMFL grounds an option, B&L an option, SAAFL grounds a massive option, some SFL grounds an option. For the HFL executive to consider postponing this weeks games is laughable - good to see Mt Barker leading the way in objecting to this unrealisitc non-solution. I encourage everyone to ring the HFL and voice their opinion on 8398 2530 or 8398 2524.

Good point about the AFL GF weekend with flights and accom largely non-refundable, Owen had best be prepared to cover these expenses!

Apparently at Blackwood tomorrow? Can anyone confirm this? Heard Mt Barker and Uraidla presidents have agreed to move it?

Anyone fancy a trip to Milang? Might cost a bit extra in time and petrol but you would get a game of footy on a good surface played.

Apparently it is in the constitution that central finals must be played at central grounds. This was voted on by the club presidents a few years back I am led to believe.

Does this need to be changed to allow for extreme circumstances?

I swear there was 2-3 central finals played at Milang about 8-10 years back. Was that before the constitution change?

Realistically though, what circumstances are extreme enough to have to resort to that? Does anyone know what the exact drama is at Loby? is the stormwater pipe on the oval? Or is it just adding water to an already muddy surface?

I believe there is a hole in the oval, making unsafe to play on.

I am willing to stand corrected by any Lobethal person to ensure I do not perpetuate any more lies............

Does anyone notice how easily the board caves to peer pressure?
Understandably, if they make a stupid decision, which seems to happen often, people kick up a fuss and then the board caves to that pressure.
Happened a few weeks back when they nearly cancelled a junior carnival on short notice but the kids stood up and said 'no, we want to play anyway', so they had little option but to cave to so many 10 and 11 year old kids. HA

Any idea when the next board elections come up and who gets to vote for the members?

I don't think it's very constructive to start bashing the HFL board.
It's a tough job.

Yeah, fair enough.

They way some people speak to them though, it's a credit that they continue to do the job.
