Not sure why we're even talking about it though really. It aint gonna happen.

Eveyone just needs to man up and accept that it might be a bit soft underfoot this week. We play in the hills remember. Where it rains. And groungs get muddy.

All 36 players have to deal with it. Whoever makes the best of it will win.

Bit of HTFU is required.

well said.

Blackwood oval was pretty ordinary but we still had an exceptional contest for both players and spectators. Everyone I spoke to said it was the most amazing game they have seen for a long time so perhaps we are all being a tad precious about surfaces, including me!

Lobey will not have recovered in 2 weeks during a wet period. By the time A grade start it will not be pretty if the rain forecast eventuates. But under the current rules there isn't any other option if we are leaving Balhannah and Hahndorf for Prelim and GF. Should be good games on those surfaces by then.

HFL should have the power to ask clubs to host these games at better venues ie Callington. Atleast the clubs get the $$$ and we see decent footy. I can only speak for the crowd at Birdwood on weekend but it was disappointing I thought. Watching those games doesn't encourage half hearted supporters to make the effort. Lucky Mt Barker boys turned up to prop up the crowd numbers!

I am not sure how involved with your club you are but that would be a nightmare. To force a club to move from their home ground and host a final at an oval they know nothing about is just ridiculous unless it was a close neighbouring town.

I am well involved and can tell you that IB has had the option to host finals at another venue but has not taken it up in past. Agree it would be a pain in the arse to co-ordinate and pay off home club so that's why we haven't done it. Just my opinion that we should play on good surfaces in finals instead of letting $$ and driving 30 mins further dictate. Reward the clubs with decent ovals and facilities first.

Reckon Uraidla might get over Mt Barker in the wet even with Mt Barker's week off and Mt Lofty over Blackwood but winner to be knocked off by Mt Barker in the prelim anyway. I'll come and watch at Balhannah and Hahndorf when there's decent footy to watch ;)

Wow that's complete domination!
When was the last time somebody claimed the medal with such a huge margin?
Hopefully the devs can nullify him on sun!

Great work PP!!! Is that 2 on the trot now? Or at least 2 in 3 years?

Quality player, very lucky to have running (well jogging) around in the 2's... hope he tears it up this week against Uris!

A and B grade coaching staff reappointed by the Onkas and 2011 will be a good season for us.

Dominant win of the medal 15 votes is a huge gap him and then the rest. The first time we played Blackwood he was everywhere and kicked 5 goals as well. Good player and a fitting result you would think.

From the games i've seen great footballer, well deserved winner and from what i'm told just as good of a bloke off the field too...

Well done to Fisher & S Ebert, i'm sure their chance is just around the corner...

Great Effort Simon (Kenny) McCormick. Brilliant player for the last couple years, and a really nice bloke to chat to off the field. Proved me wrong by taking out the medal. I really thought that all the time he spent in the forward lines and off the ball would have worked against him securing the award but word from the club newsletter is he got votes in 14 out of 18 matches with 9 of those best on ground! Top Effort and great to see the award back at Blackwood!

That is a disgrace if true. The ovals the same for both sides just play on it. Hopefully doesn't mean that the grand final will be played on the same day of the AFL grandfinal. How does that work???

Well quite simply it doesn't work...

Surely you can't call off a weekend of finals football on Friday at 2pm. Way too premature!

Just heard this too, apparently ovals are too unsafe, Country Div to go ahead at Callington.
GF will now be on AFL Grand Final day, what a load of shit! I know we had a footy trip paid for for that weekend. Thanks HFL
