He never did, he started him on the bench.

My point is;

For our OWN benefit (rather than their AFL Club's) WE need to play them in the Reserves.

Otherwise, this is likely to continue to be a problem.

Example:

We dropped players out of our League side (when we were going well, mid-year) to accomodate Broadbent coming back into the Eagles team after going 'up' one week, back to us the next.

That UNSETTLED our team (particularly those players who got dropped).

I can see why Neil Craig himself played guys like 'Rocket Maynard' in the Norwood 2s, when he was coach of Norwood

I think you will find that you have to play them for 3 or 4 games in the League before you can drop them.

We'll win this!

We have to!

And it was David Pittman who was played in the reserves at Norwood in 1991.

If I remember rightly, starting bench at Woodville Oval for Macca's 300th in 1995 was Rodney Maynard and Matthew Robran.

Anyway, Norwood by 5 goals!

ABC-TV will also be telecasting live at the ground, doing regular crosses from the W/WT v Sturt match, for updates.

Close, very close. Matthew had been in good form for Norwood in 1995 and was taken by the Crows to play Collingwood that week, so he didn't play for Norwood.

On the bench in Macca's 300th game were Rodney Maynard and Stephen Rowe. It was also Maynard's 150th game for Norwood.

Cheers for the correction - my memory is a little poor, getting old

My annoyance with the 'system' still stands, however

No hope for Eags progressing beyond 2nd week of Finals without both Salter & Broadbent IMHO

Concerned that with the likelihood of rain that we may be a touch top-heavy.

Tough call who to leave out of the 21, possibly Beech and Fielke. IMO Rowe and Bricknell must play.

I know Birss' form in the 2s hasnt been flash, but surely someone with his experience (dare i add his current pay packet also) would be valuable?

AH what's got up your snout, aren't we supposed to be on the same side???

Anyway, I dropped out to look at the oval about 2 hours ago, not looking good even at this early stage, weather forecast is for more rain tonight easing off to showers tomorrow along with 70km winds, who'd be a groundsman this week for quids

Cheers,

70 km/h winds? Play Ferguson up forward and let Hartlett have shots at goal from CHB.

What's up my snout? I've had a gutful of wet footy matches. I've got the flu at the moment and no way will I be at the football on Sunday unless the sun comes out.

I was on the oval earlier this week and it was in very good nick, but once again with the rain we've had I can imagine it will be a sea of water and mud. The trouble with Norwood Oval is we use it too much with all the underage and school competitions, etc, and when it rains it really gets chopped up.

Now I fully understand AH, bad timing with the flu, right when the whips are cracking, get well soon, with a bit of luck Sunday's game might be just a shower or two by then.

A good bottle of Scotch or a wild woman and preferrably both aught to fix what ailes you by then

Go you Mighty Legs
