you right it doesn't but I sure as hell would prefer to have two-three A/B graders in my team. I could almost guarantee that if you were playing PAOC this week you would be singing a very different tune!

well if your A's had done the right thing and won last week u'd be fine too ;)

sorry couldn't help myself. but in all seriousness. we're not trying to mess with the system these blokes have legitimatly come back from injury and need a game. we're just lucky enough to have everyone else already in a GF

So do we but we aren't blatantly cheating like that !! Waltham has played 12 A grade games so to prepare for his A grade finals he 'needs' to play a D grade game ?? Get yer hand off it.... Thats a crap rule and I dont care what piss weak crap Executive Member comes out with but thats a joke and if he is on the committee that approves those permits he should hang his boots up. Disgrace. :-q

My point exactly, yes they are playing by the rules but is deffinately not within the spirit of what the rule was set up for. It is a crap rule and PAOC are exploiting it, plain and simple. This guy will dominate at this level, they are playing in a div 3 GF and next week he will play in that side regardless. I guarantee PAOC will NOT play him in the D or C grade in the GF if they get the D grade in. It stinks. Same as Roo playing just enough games to qualify, I personally hope that the way they run their club will come back to bite them.

Happens every year fellas. PAOC wouldn't be the first 4-team club to 'tinker' with their teams during the finals.

You can complain all you like, but complaining won't win you the game.

Pretty sure there wouldn't be too many teams out there who would even think about playing an A grader in the D grade for finals.

All I can say is that I feel sorry for the guys who are stepping aside for these blokes to play 3 teams below their standard.....

Thanks for the vote of confidence there Choccies it means a lot to me ;)
Can I suggest that if you and your club are outraged by the rule then you speak to your Club Delegate who has the power to get it changed
It's not like we sat around and made the rule up all we can do is enforce it and like I said if you and your club feel that strongly about it then you have the power to change it

Clearly the rule wont be changed by Saturday and will not change the feeling that our players will feel for the rest of our lives of being cheated by the SAAFL if we lose on saturday.

If I was playing for SMOSH I would be stoked with the rule, PAOC win this week they would be thinking they have the GF in the bag! Come next week PAOC will need to play their best side in all grades leaving the D grade full of just that D graders, this is why this selection for PAOC is an unfair one and one that may get them into a D grade GF, but wont win them one.

If GG had won in the A grade last week, there is no way we would play a player down in the D grade for "match time". What will they gain from this? Maybe you could get the entire B grade to play in the C4 GF this week Choccies? ;) My point is just because it is allowed to happen does not mean it should.

Rest of your lives? There isn't that much difference between 2nd and 3rd! ;)

You never know, players looking for a bit of match fitness might only serve to distract the remaining players from their normal role and do nothing other than disrupt team balance. This could help prevent you boys from going out in straight sets.

I play for Smosh (try) and we just want to play the best. I personaly am not happy with the rules but like stated not much you can do about. A grade Players playing D grade is a disgrace and like i said the blokes missing out have been robbed. Good luck to all the D graders this week.

all we have done is get the permits for blokes who havent played in a while who yeah will probably play b's or c's next week (if they even play either game). and im sure there are guys in the D's (IF these guys play) that will feel hard done by. hopefully none of them play and we beat you fair and square. and on the roo thing pull your head out of your arse

people should understand that any of those people who've had permits allowed must apply for permits to play any grade below a grade if that's where they've played the majority of games before being injured; indeed, waltham may play a grade.
the b grader may well be gaining a permit for the c grade.

paoc may pick these players higher but they're just doing the right thing by themselves and giving themselves the widest possible options.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Ok lets set one thing straight, this has nothing to do with the SAAFL staff
so the two people to directly have a crack at are Shaun Ryan (me) and Gino Capogreco who made the ruling independently of each other when presented with the facts

Also not sure what other response you would like me to give as I have come on here explaining the decision based around the rule as approved by YOUR CLUB and all the other clubs

Wouldn't the rule that you can't drop 2 grades overule anything anyway or has that one gone by the wayside?

So do you think it's a fair rule then ???
To drop 3 grades lower than the grade you have played 2/3rds of the year in ??
