hahahahaha!!!! seems to be common this time of year.

Maybe if the bays kept PUMPA they wouldnt have to resort to such tactics.

Actually Sutherland walked out on Glenelg to chase coin in Canberra and then the riverland but whatever you reckon.

never let the facts get in the way of a good story

Why?

Centrals form has been iffy, at best, whilst Glenelg have swept all before them. A bit of confidence in your own team wouldn't go astray here.

The amount of desperately nervous reverse psychology being employed by Tiger supporters is sure fun to watch.

why you ask?

centrals at home have a sensational record at the best of times, whilst we struggle with the wide open spaces at elizabeth, get sucked in to playing indirect football. They have lost the past 2 games and it is rare for them to lose 3 games in a row.

I would hardly say we have swept all before us, if that was the case we would be clearly on top.

We struggled against norwood for a half, who completely outplayed us, it was just unfortunate for the legs that they didnt have the best preparation leading into that game.

but having said all that, yes we will and should be comprehensively demolished on saturday, but there is one thing that is certain we will be winning a premiership this year

i would say the opposite mate if glenelg cant beat central this week while out of form on an oval similar to football park i would say they would be in trouble especially once the bay belly strikes in the finals.

add to this the fact that central have a fair few players resuming from injury who will benfit greatly from another run.

the pressure will be on the bays big time this week. they have struggled to win ONE final nevermind three which they would need to do if they loose this week, if they hope of winning the premiership

does that mean the bookies have got the market wrong for this game given centrals current injury concerns?

i do think the bookies have the market wrong i think it 50/50. There is no doubt that there would be half a dozen central players who will be much better for the run this week without question.

The funny part is forgetting the loses i dont think our form is any worse than it normally is at this time of year infact its almost better. In previous years we have had some soft runs in games such as westies or south away port at home and teams that seasons have all been over and so forth so we may have won despite playing like crap.

this year the draw has thrown up sturt and eagles away games we have struggled with at the best of times. Add to that both these clubs have had everything to play for two loses against these sides isnt very surprising after all.

the benfit of such a game for both clubs is they will get a glimpse at what players can and cant handle the finals pressure

didn't central lose the last minor round game last year to a then lowly norwood ? & then got out of gaol twice, raised the bar & went top.....this week i agree it is a 50/50 match but as a bookie i think they have it about right (i'd have cd at around $1.50) given the history, home ground etc

It's good that Sellar hasn't been given the go for this week, as has been said before, a rule is a rule! However, going on today's 'Tiser I'm sure Mr Rucci will take the issue in hand in his "Personal Vendetta Article" and manage to throw in an attack on Gary Metcalf. Just as he did today with an attack on North Adelaide in two different articles.
Question: When does the Chief Football Writer for The Advertiser take up writing SANFL articles?
Answer: When it suits him and helps push personal vendettas and agendas.

Doesn't even need to be out of AFL season. He just takes over the SANFL when it suits him, maybe he models himself on Andrew Demitriou. I feel sorry for young journos there like Reece Homfrey etc who are trying to forge a career and this boofhead jumps all over them to get at a beat up story just to further a personal (or not so personal) agenda.
You're a good journo Michaelangelo, don't sell yourself out.....at least not all the time.

No he isn't. The calibre of his articles ranges from sheer hagiography (when his pet team is concerned) to bad poetry, all the while avoiding being objective, intellectual, factual or informative. I cannot fathom how an obvious goose like Roochy is able to hold down a senior position at the 'tiser. I have long held the belief that he must possess compromising photos of higher staff, for he cannot have achieved tenure through skill or ability.

No it's not, it's mine aswell lol

I don't think all of his articles are without fact, but I can't stand the license he is given to push his own football related political agenda .. Thankfully I stopped buying the Advertiser because of his rubbish and rarely have to read his ramblings now.

It's scary, I agree. He's marginally better than Mr Newell. It wouldn't surprise me if they're one in the same.
I'd add vindictive to the above.

P.S Thanks also, I learnt a new word today. Hagiography wtf, I thought it would have something to do with Nick Riewoldt. ;)

That Mark Newell from localfootysa is an interesting character isn't he??? Hates Central with a passion...

Back on topic, with Sellar not being allowed to play for the Tigers and Lachy Button out, will they go with young McGinty or just use Kirk as their back up to Cranston?

Nearly but not quite.

He was once dragged painfully by the ear by his then editor across the floor in front of the rest of the staff. He then parlayed that admittedly poor behaviour by his boss into the dream gig as 'roving sports correspondent in the States'. He then arrived back like a conquering hero and has carried on like he owns South Australian football ever since. He's also got a villa in Tuscany he spends a vast period of the year in so maybe there was a cash settlement component with News Limited as well.

All a true story for any nervous moderators.
