handy start

race 2 was a disaster, got some back in race 3

looking forward to cleaning up over the next 3 races hitting exotics for units as the best dogs are clear standouts in these races

race 1
1 - 1st starter watch market - 2nd
2 - run on type - 3rd
8 - ex vic must be included - winner

race 2
5 - expect improvement on its first start - scr
7 - good early pace - no good
8 1st starter should get clear run out here - 4th
4 - best of the rest - winner

race 3
1 - should improve off the better box - 2nd
2 - place is best
4 - 1st starter in good kennel - winner
8 - best of the rest - 4th

race 4
6 - should be winning here - winner
8 - 2nd pick but box is a slight concern - didnt handle box 8
1 - drawn perfectly to be in the finish - 2nd
2,4,7 should all be included for tri and first 4's

race 5
2,5,6,8 - these all have winning hopes
i like 2,5 to run the quinella
2 on top as it should find the fence first whilst the 5 will have to negotiate traffic

2 wins, the 5 got a sever check, 8,6 run 3rd/4th

race 6
8 - gets back but runs on hard and will need too in this - whatta win
2 - is the clear main danger and has good early pace, should be leading this giving the 8 something to chase - 2nd
3 - runs on as place hope and the 6 is in good kennel for tris and first 4 - nowhere

race 7 - 7 on top in poor race - wins $3.20

race 8 - 1 - non chaser - scr
3 - can be in the finish here - 2nd
4 - good early pace helps - wins
6 - down in grade looks the one to beat if fit - 3rd
nice result there and quaddie pays $53

race 9
4 - solid winning hope - SCR

race 10 - 1 we wont be getting $20 on the tote about this today like we did saturday night. slow out, runs on, not really suited to an inside draw.
plenty of early pace, from 3,4,7 and then 5,6,8, the red could be dead last early but does have the ability to win a race like this - ran on for 2nd

8 - 1 - 2nd $1.00

11 - 5 - winner - won well, got crunched late on the WA tote $2.70 and $1.20

expect all to be placed at worst

BRETT LEE
Written By Craig Cook
Advertiser 2/09/2010

The King is dead and were unlikely to see his like again
Brett Lee was humanely put to death on Sunday in the presence of long time owner Keith Pedrana
The ''black flash'' failed to recover form surgery to repair a broken shoulder sustained when he slipped in the backyard
Those lucky enough to watch ''chucka'' race saw a sporting icon to rival Walter Lindrum, Don Bradman, Phar Lap and Shane Watson
He was that far ahead of his rivals
With his phenominal career as a sire, Brett Lee's legacy will be evident in greyhound racing for a hundred years

8 races at the AP today have either no Any Twos or a 3rd place div
This dues to scratchings, and hardly a reserve nominated today
Is it that hard to have a pool of say half a dozen dogs as reserves ?
They could be Juveniles or G6 dogs and perhaps some G5 dogs to cover the scratchings
Perhaps another pool of maiden reserve dogs

We have 10 races only 3 races had a reserve dog
Dont think thats good enough

If its easy enough how about offering all reserve dogs $50 for nominating
That would be 20 reserves in 10 races
If they dont get a run that equates to $1000 given as rebates
With 8 dog fields there may be an increase in EW betting
There would be enough to have an any 2 pool in each race

Worth a try ?
If Turnover increased it would partially or fully recoup the $1000 ?
