Would be a good thing if Ponting and Huss injured themselves before the next Test, that kept them out of the summer.

They'd probably retire after that... :ympray:

REB, my side is picked for a international test series at the highest level, not a micky mouse comp in the bush. It's easy to say drop ponting, north and hussey and go for more exciting youthful options such as ferg, khuwaja, marsh, white etc. However you can't just chop and change to add some excitement and expect these players to perform. You can see that young Geelong players always look comfortable in their first 5 or 10 games compared to some youngsters at Richmond and the like. This is because they step into a class outfit and the experience around them makes them more confident and comfortable. Australia was the same when Clarke and watto played their first few tests, they were able to be carried for a little bit but generally performed early on.
I'm not saying that ponting isn't past his best and agree that we need to get some games into the youngsters at some stage, just like we did with pup, but it's unrealistic to shake up the whole side in one series. It's easy to get excited with the young talent and ahead of yourself but this is sport at it's highest level, a certain level of stability and structure needs to be in place.

1. Katich - Just to consitant to be replaced definatly one of the keys to the team winning
2. M Hussey - Not in the greatest of nick at the moment but I have always beleived he should play higher in the order, he will compliment The Kats game and he also has the ability to turn around a slow run rate which is something Watson doesnt do well, he is either fast or slow not both
3. Punter - Clarke will get his go eventually but why change the position of Australias most prolific run scorer and Punter has the ability to change his form with one innings as he so often does.
4. Clarke - Just a born batsmen can be shuffled higher or lower depending on the teams needs.
5. North - Can bat well, it seems that being picked when your older you dont seem to have the same amount of leeway when you start failing, if he was 22 we would all say he is only young, but being older isnt always easier to go from State to International.
6.Haddin - Great batter just let him do his thing and with Watson at 7 there will not be as much pressure on the keeper to score.

Assuming everyone voted on six, that's 42 people who submitted votes. Simon Katich was voted 40 times, I wonder who didn't vote for him? ;)
