I think that you will find that Walks is very well respected player within the league. I know that you are trying to bait the McLaren supporters but seriously mate you are a deadset nob.

Someone showed me a photo of it Saturday night.

Pretty horrific and no-one would wish that on anyone.

From GSFL Website:

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE

The Second Semi Final Venue has been changed from McLaren Vale to WILLUNGA next Saturday 4th September.

It was considered by the President of the McLaren Club and the Executive of the GSFL that the present condition of the oval and with the forecast of rain later this week that the Oval may not be up to the level required for such a finals match.

Great attitude from Willunga A's yesterday. Having their backs against the wall only seems to have made them more determined. Be very afraid! An added incentive is to match the 1984 side who, in the SLF, scraped into 5th spot by the barest of margins to then go on and win the flag a week before Norwood did the same year. But I get ahead of myself. The focus is on next Sunday against the new finals kids on the block in Yankalilla. Here's hoping the free kick tally is a little fairer than yesterday. 24 to 2 against Willunga at half time!! The umps made up a little in the last half of the last quarter with 9 free kicks to Willunga but this was mainly due to Creeks frustration and unnecessary acts in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Looking forward to supporting the U14's, U17's and Reserves next Saturday at Willunga. All hands on deck Willunga to make this a very successful day both on and off the field. GO DEMONS!

would $1500 a game at Echuca, be on the ball. They raided a couple of SANFL clubs last year.

What a complete and utter waste of money that would be.

Definately not Echuca. Think it was in the Mildura league.

WTF??? How the hell does that happen? I remember a game in the 90s where Victor absolutely smacked the Creek (Melican kicked 16) and the free kick count was 17-3 against us at the end of the day. Absolutely ridiculous. Full marks to Willunga on their win if that was the case.

So sick of bad umpiring ruining our great game. I know it is a difficult job - one of my best mates has taken it up and is doing well, but the blatent bs borders on outright cheating. A few weeks ago for the Victor/McLaren game we had a young girl do the A's - she did a great job. She seemed to go by the old KISS method - and that is all we require for amateur footy - pay the obvious free kicks. Yes she missed a couple of frees or got them wrong, but she put the old fella she was teamed up with to shame - he was attrocious.

Tend to agree, the umpiring is very inconsistent. One minute they let it go & then they pay the ticky touch ones. 2 games this year, vs Goolwa & Compass were that bad you just had to laugh. When both coaches boxes were looking at each other saying WTF was that for, after your team receives the free, you know its not good. Tough gig being an ump, we need them but they are being paid well so they need to improve.

Willunga have beaten Yank both times during the minor round, so to exit in straight sets is a real possibility WOW. Home ground advantage will help as well.
I thought Yank played a short, indirect style of game on Saturday, which will be hard to play at Willunga.
Langhorne Creek...gone for 2010 and with an ageing list and no depth in their two's will have some work to do off season to stay as a contender in 2011.

Yank, if they do drop out this week will also be at the crossroads. Will drop from 15 points to 11 and have no room for any more recruits.

I think the 90-100k is a bit over the top WOW.....but certainly the number is a lot higher than the 40k (tops) plus a few Muddy $ at Pongy.

1st Semi is at Compass Yetti.

Hope Creek gets some sun before the GF. Heard the mention of flooding there on the weekend - with heavy rains on the way this week!

Dont be scared to come out of that cave & into the real world Yetti... ;) Players dont fly from Darwin for $300 a game!
By the way if you've got it, spend it. If they can win a flag, the players, supporters etc are long over due for one.

if the final has been cancelled from mclaren where does that leave the game at compass. Surely that would be in worse condition? I also heard yank will miss mcfarlane and lohde this week?

Could be heading to Echuca with a old Team Mate in Rhys Archard. ( his home club )
I beleive Rhys value rises with players brought with him.
