I have heard from a reliable source that wendleborn tried heading up to Imperials for coin with another unknown midfielder. Apparently the pair were asking way too much for what they are worth. Don't know how he will go this year if his heart was in his pocket before the season starts??

Devils Advocate,
Dont get me wrong champ, Ive got a lot of time for you and reckon you're one of the funniest blokes I've ever met, but that really is a disgraceful call. To say that I am not devil through and through is poor form by you. If your getting stuck into about moving on to greener pastures and trying to go as far as i can with my footy you are pulling it chamese.

For starters, despite not playing a single game for Mt. Lofty last year I went back to the club to watch the presentations every Saturday after I had finished down at Unley. I went to every single club function during the season and even did a shite load of work around the club for Coco in my spare time. Not only that, even though I didn't wear the red and white last year I still went on the end of year trip to Bondi and showed my true colours... even though there were some notable absentees from the trip... yourself included.

Watching the blokes i had grown up playing with win the A grade premiership was probably one of the happiest days of my life mate... and even though i had a good year personally last season i would have given my left nut to have played in that side.

And another thing i didn't try and convince Hopper to come down to Unley... He called me up and asked for the coaches phone number. All I told him was it was the best move I had ever made because it has made me a 10 times better athlete and footballer.

And just to proove it to ya mate, when ive gone as far as i can with my footy in town... whether that be in 1 year or 15 years... will come back and play at devil park and I wont ask for a cent... I will just play because I love the club mate.
Whatever 2pac
See ya at Maslins

I50

Sorry mate, my post is obviously interpreted the wrong way.

I definately know you're Devils through and through, I've been sucked in again by Silky (about the Hopper to Sturt comment). I certainly don't begrudge anyone a crack at playing at a higher level, in fact I applaud it. I reckon everyone should have a crack at playing the highest level possible as I stated in the original post. I reckon it's great seeing blokes you've played with or blokes from your club playing SANFL or AFL.

Don't think I'm having a crack at you mate cos I'm not. Far from it.

Perhaps it's just better for me to keep my massive mouth shut for a change!

As for the footy trip, the reason I pulled out is there were some 'politics' involved. I'd rather keep the peace when it comes to what happened than be a complete cockhead and stir the pot on that matter.

I would have loved to be there to have a crack at the downlow, but it wasn't to be.

Yep defintely official, no Sarno at Lofty next year.... also heard that Becis is leaving, as well as Heath Pahl and i guess with your injury DA you are ruling out another comeback?? There seems to be so much talent coming through from the 17's that im sure Lofty will still finish next year where they belong... on top!

Any word if the program for 07 has been released?? I know that it begins on April 21 but im struggling to find a copy of the program anywhere.

Your reliable source is close. Three players were approached by Imperials with much larger offers than Ironbank but wanted to stay and play with friends and rebuild the a grade. Wendelborn is hell bent on doing this and is running the whole pre season and recruited 3 guns to the club, etc so you would say his heart is in it.

yeh i heard rumours that a wendlebourne exit was inevitable at the end of last year but these rumors were put to rest wen he said he was keen to return to the bank as long as he was reposted (teching) in the same location. chook - he could get plenty of coin from many a club so i think stayin at ironbank was definately his preferred option. what about you army tank ive heard ur looking very menacing on the track and could be pushing for an a grade spot?

Any clubs picked up any Blackwood juniors? Apparently with all the recruits they have gained there are many boys wanting to move so as to get a chance to play senior footy. Would be a shame if they lost all theur juniors considering how well they have done last few years. Surely rebuilding through your locals and juniors guarantees ya club success for more than just the one year.

Any truth in the rumour that Uraidla with HFL blessing were trying to organise a C Grade on Friday nights?
I believe this came about after Mt Barker pulled out on a Country A grade idea when they lost all their players.

Yeah Alaska, the idea of a C-grade comp was discussed with interest at the December HFL agm. Uraidla, Ironbank, Kangarilla and Mt Lofty were a few clubs which suggested they may be interested. Running on a Friday nite would be ideal, in a limited say, 10 round season, with maybe 15 quarters. Would give the chance for a few of the kids coming out of Colts and those regular fringe B-graders to have a kick and a catch, still remaining able to play. I think interest will be judged again at the adjourned agm in February. Hopefully there is the prospect of some form of comp being organised and taking place, even if its just four clubs involved.
