Wasn't it out of 3?
Eddie Hocking was one who missed out along with Ricky Pearce.

He also coached another SAAFL Club to 2 grand finals. :o

if the new gepps cross has already been appointed why would gepps not announce who it is??

I went down to Salis Nth today and saw a pretty good game of footy.
The Hawks looked like they were gonna kick away in that 2nd quarter, but then goodies hit back hard. Burton and Illman i reckon were the 2 who played the biggest part in getting them back in the game.
From what i saw, best for goodies would have been Giles, Bartel, Illman, Burton.
Number 8 for Salis kicked a bag, but no real stand outs. more of an overall team effort.
next sat should be a cracker. my tip is henley to win though, with the hawks winning the other game.

agreed mate was a very good game to watch number 7 for goodies is a gun only a little fella but a gun none the less dont know his name also though both ruckmen were probably the differance for goodwood in the end. bartel was good as hamblin i thought he was super as well.

for the hawks def. #8 was a stand out thought jordon and number #12 were also pretty good.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

BOP and Carey - Pretty accurate report of the game I think. It also proves the importance of Matt Smith and Burton to Goodwood's midfield. Uncompromising, aggresive and clean they were the two who dragged the game back Goodwood's way. Illman clunking everything also helps the cause. Whilst it was close throughout the second half lots of missed shots from Goodwood could have seen the result a little more lopsided.

Interesting decision to play Jordan at CHB - He was well beaten by Illman and had little influence on the game after half time. He is such a good player at this level I would have thought he would have caused troubles if played on a wing or half forward and allowed to do his thing. including Joe Hay in their side would also have made a difference, they missed him in close.

I reckon they only moved Jordan onto Illman to try and stop his dominance in the 3rd quarter. But then they missed his drive through the middle. Salisbury North refusing to play the corridor and goodwood doing exactly that, helped the result a bit too.
Even though Goodies are hard to beat at home, i reckon they're more suited to a bigger ground with the way they play. Probably why when finals come, in particular the grand finals, they are usually a lot better.
