We have not had the Cinderella sides capture the imagine of the public like they did in the 80's and 90's. Perhaps this is because of the increased professionalism and focus on the mental attitude in footy these days of the top sides.

Or the reduced standard and mental toughness of everyone below 3rd compared to the 80s and 90's

Fair call, Ian, regarding the standard, not sure about the mental toughness of the 4-5th sides being reduced.
Perhaps it could be a passion/adrenalin thing, given these finals were played in front of much larger crowds than today
