Fanta Pants - I would have though that Adelaide would have the money to do so. Sure, you asked if it was Port but I see it this way. Adelaide are clearly building something that could be successful in the next 3-5 years. We all know you build your teams from the back half and Bock is crucial to Adelaides set up. Adelaide are well known to not throw huge money around and that is what has cost them Bock's signature. In all reality I am sure Adelaide could have afforded it, no doubt. Their list is full of talented youngsters who at this stage come cheap. Have they cut their nose of to spite their face?

There is no doubt in my mind that the AFC did all they could to keep Bock. You could tell by the body language at the press conference that they(craig and trigg) were disappointed Bock left. Yes AFC has a reputation of not throwing huge cash around but AFC definitely has some promising youngsters that would have had their salary considerably increased eg. Tippet, McKay, Dangerfield etc

Also, where do you decide what is actually best for the Team vs keeping 1 player? AFC may have played all their cards within what then allows them to fit a player/s that we need to add to the squad/deficits eg, running midfielder (Griffen?) Davis can cover Bock to an extent and develop further and add Otten to defence it all stacks up IMO!

It always amuses me to see someone parade their ignorance so proudly. Ablett consistently racks up a high contested possession count and has won three straight AFL MVP's. That is, the one voted by the players.

All clubs would love to have a couple like him 'cause that's what footy's about, getting it firstly and putting it to advantage just like the "hog does"

I am aware Bock is a handy player, and the money offered by the new 'franchise" was fantastic.

But just as the AFL has sold out 'Aussie Rules Football' , Bock has sold out the Crows.

In my view, I will only remember him as a good player who was a sell out.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

Bock had one particularly good year, but apart form that his career could probably best be described as a level or 2 above average.

bock is starting to burn out so take the money and run and set your self up for life after footy. there is going to be one more chance after the GCFC gravy train so either get on board this one or the GWS one. cash in like the rugby boys have with one exception bock can or could actually play the game.

Birdman said Bock was a sell out, but realistically would Bock be still playing when Adelaide get around to having another shot at a flag????

Cant see your point, first and foremost Brett is an AFC player. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesnt. I dont think the word 'sell-out' was used btw. What a beat up !
