Really is disappointing, He could have been the lad to bring back some of the young, tallented lads back through those doors. I guess you live by the sword, you die by the sword. I remember watching him bowl them to a Premiership up at Willaston as a 16/17 year old, 17 over straight on a 40odd degree day, 4/Eff all, how long 7-8 years really is in ones life!
On a brighter note, I have heard rumors there are some Salisbury North connections are on the way back accross Salisbury Downs to the home of the mighty Redbacks. That is if the three soccer pitches aren't laid by the council as some are suggesting!
His skipper was good to him that year nth pines won a gf against willaston. Helped him with his cricket . Also I think the skipper had a fair bit to do with the win making 88 with the bat. Good team effort I thought

Didn't do much... your kidding right? He won the Association Batting trophy and beat Blondie's most runs in a year record... Sure the team struggled but to say Curley didn't do much is a bit of a bloody joke!

I never questioned that, nor did I shy away from the fact, however just making sure Curley's "did nothing" refelects his output as a coach with the group that year, rather than his cricket ability. Pretty unbelieveable considdering the side North Pines had around then, to pick up the what would be the best batter in the comp and the best bowler, to finish bottom. Team dynamics go further in a team sport than good individual tallent? Any way, seems PDCA Div one is headded back to the glory days, can not wait!

Im with you on this one Norm. The club has not been the same since. Just shows what a few poor decisions can do to a club.
