Silky don't worry about the Devs mate. There were plenty of players who were pissed about having to buy their premiership jumpers - me included, but at the end of the day, Mt Lofty isn't an AFL club that can give away jumpers willy nilly - YET!!

Happy new year to you Indian! How is the new business venture?

It seems that silly season is in full swing, I have heard of a couple of signings late last week from the River Murray region but as always for rumours this time of year I will believe it when I see them on the track. They will be very handy if it is to become true as they should take some of the pressure off of the younger squad.

Recruiting does seem to be alot more active this yeah though, with plenty of interest around and a good vibe at training. It can only mean good things for the Thunderers to get some good experienced players to support the kids. Still need a few more big blokes to make up for the lack of height in 2006 though.

I am sure you would be aware of at least a couple of players leaving for different reasons but there will not be any holes left in the side that weren't there already. So with no real major losses and new people at the club, things appear to be moving forward for the Green and Gold. We will know more in a couple of weeks when the dust settles and the ink is dry.

But how about you Indian, I have heard about three different rumours (mainly from Thunder Down Under) about you perhaps pulling the boots on again for 2007, perhaps down in town? Or will making up beds on Main North Road take up too much time for footy?

Barmy Tank, Glad to hear the New year has brought about some positive leads up at the thunderdome. I also have heard the thunderers mave have pulled of a massive coup, but we shall wait till we see the multiple medallist out on the track. Think i will be too busy to pull on the boots. Thunder 'Tour' Down Under might be stirring the pot. Time will tell

Tanka, it must have been a late night at the pub.

Shane Russell aint going anywhere that is south of North Terrace. Moonta is a more likely choice.

The Ladhams connection might be enough to get him up there.

At Meadows with another ex-Ironbank player, Old Collegians side in town, permanantly retired.....................

These are all rumours about Shane Russell although I think he starts most of them himself  Maybe the Indian can shed some light on the matter? Haven't heard from the Straight Shooter for a while either........perhaps he may know more as well?

TDU......I had forgotten about the Moonta rumour so that makes four! But I agree that this is the most probable outcome. Ray would be promising fishing charters and many a young maiden from Ravo's as an incentive to pull on a Demon's jumper!

Was mentioned on the previous page that Meadows might have picked a couple up from Ironbank but given that Russell played for Reynella last year, I'd assume that he wasn't one of the two that Sherrin was referring to.

GTS i dont mean Pahl, i mean your other ruckmen.... Temme was the man in question, according to the lofty legend he is angry at the club for paying players who he perceives as his equals at footy. Apparently at the Lofty club AGM they are looking at naming the A grade B and F trophy the Sam Miles Medal , and the B grade medal will b called the Valdis Trophy...

Valdis trophy - would be a prestigious award named after a club legend.

Funniest comment from the balcony ever was after Valdis had about 18 bourbon cans and 20 lines of god knows what - the devils chant was in full swing and when it had died down, Valdis yells out "SATAN".....guess you had to be there.

Nevertheless, the dude is off his rocker.

Forum,

Adding to Ironbank files.

I have heard from a reliable source that Muffy Katyneri from the River Murray League has signed at Ironbank. Muffy is an absolute gun of a player.

Heard that it was a sizable sign on fee. But have also heard that he has been known to take a sign on fee then do the runner to another club.

WOnder how the whippett would go on the small Hills ovals??

Anyone heard this rumour as well?? Indian, any comments??
How good is footy!

Muffy has definetely signed at Ironbank. He will also be bringing some friends with him apparently. He is good mates with Wendelborn. Things apparently are not too happy at Tailem Bend with new coach stating that they are chasing ex laegue players only and paid players all had their $$ halved to accommodate this including muffy. Ironbank will be improvers especially now that they look like losing Morrissey and Williamson to meadows.

If that comes through, it is a MASSIVE pick-up for Ironbank. He is an absolute gun!!
