I follow golf quite closely, and this is a very intriguing tournament to look at. The first time that Tiger Woods won't start favorite in a tournament for around eight years, for one. Phil Mickelson is battling arthritis, so this opens the field right up.

Harrington is worth a look, but would think that 21's is under for him at the moment. In fair form, but not brilliant. Ricky Barnes has had more top 5 finishes than any other US PGA tour player this year, and represents great value at the $101 on offer. Bubba Watson, at the same price, looks very suited by the course also. Rickie Fowler has also been in top form, and well worth consideration.

Of the Australians, Michael Sim finished like lightning last week to be in a tie for third. His overall stats can be a bit misleading, in terms of the KPI's (driving distance, accuracy etc), but he is a show if he can carry that form through. Jason Day has had some stellar rounds this year and is an emerging star - both are over $151. Geoff Ogilvy has had an up and down season, but at $71, is worth a top 10 chance.

Agreed. Take out the Scottish Open, which is a course that really doesn't suit his game, and his last eight months have been excellent. Five Top 5 finishes in that time, in decent fields. Certainly a show in this field. His short game will suit the course and he has shown in the past he can make up ground from a fair way back.

Put $10 on Mcilroy @ $18 at the start of the tournament - is it worth covering a couple of others at the top of the leaderboard or try and ride my luck..??

I think Watney is $2.50 now for the win.

Sportsbet.com.au has refunded all bets on Dustin Johnson to win the US PGA. We think Johnson stiff....and we think our punters were shafted.

Didnt think it would take long.

Listening to Unitab sports show this morning, Tim Gossage the football caller had 2 bets, Johnson @ $101 and Watson @ $151. For both to lose, thats unlucky.

Brodlach I cant see your problem with Sportsbet and these occassional refund gestures.

Sure they might get some free publicity but BIG deal as long as we the punters benefit now and then unless you have vested interests elsewhere ;) ;)

Watson has real talent, he's not just a long hitter.
Look for him to contend in a US Masters in the near future.
