thats a pretty fair side, the only changes i would make would be swap puccini and clegett i think pooch is a genuine forward pocket and think hes more dangerous there and clegget imo is better on a HFF,

this may sound bias but i think cocchiaro has had a better year than sam white from smosh and would have him in my BP, think connelly has had a better year than thatch so would have him starting on that wing and maybe find a spot for Devries

The last HFF spot was between Ellis, Cibich and Porplycia. I have only seen Porplyzia and Cibich once each and Porplyzia didnt have much input and Cibich was very good in patches but drifted in and out of the game. where as the 2 times i saw Ellis he kicked goals whil he was resting on the flank and can play through the midfield also.
As for the wing positions Flanigan and Thach are extremely fast with great evasive skills to go with foot skills.
It was between those 2 guys i picked aswell and Connelly, but the difference was Thach and Flanigan seem to be more damaging.
On PAC only having 3 guys. It was hard to fit there whole starting 21 in ;)

Pedler DeVries Prest for my half back line - our half back line has dominated all year
And Tom Payne would have to be considered for a wing
Kelly for first rover - just ask those who have seen him in the last month and that's just when he's gone up another few notches

just a quick comment on a few of CBCOC players. if number 5 doesnt get atleast 5 for king hitting the smallest bloke on the oval in the back of the head right infront of the umpire there is something wrong, and number 9 was the biggest sniper i have played against, to his credit he got away with it and what always happens was the retaliator got caught.

u mob at portland would have to be the biggest bunch of sooks in the SAAFL. u have a team full of snipers, who are infamous for behind the ball hits(and on the ball hits) and have played that way every time i have seen you play. it is what u guys are about! im not defending any CBC player for hitting anyone off the ball, cos it is a weak act, but jeez a portland player having a whinge about something like that makes me laugh.

im going to have to backup the portland boys here. Cbc players are a bunch of snipers. Back in 2005 back playing with plympton a player from cbc was going round punching blokes in the balls and he was doing it all game. When our captain saw it he gave the cbc player a beauty right in the mouth. They couldnt find his teeth until he had surgery and found them embedded in his gum. Cbc wrote a letter to the saafl saying he wldnt play again which he ended up playing in another league and they took nottle to court where i had to front as a witness. nots got off and still got suspended for 10games. So cbc get used to being known as a club full of snipers

Hollywood every club has had there share of snipers over the years so dont go around aiming at CBC or any other Club for that matter before looking within your own Club as well. Sure you might have a vendetta over a certain incident that you say took place over 5 years ago, but look in your own backyard as well. I have seen your boys snipe this year myself so the motto here is - those in Glass Houses shouldn't throw stones

Obviously going to be a wet muddy day (especially triple headers) so those sides hoping for a big win for percentage will probably miss out. In saying that IMO this brings Para Hills right into contention today. They do play well in the wet especially at home.

I personally think i've played better footy this season, then i did last year.
Alot more consistent from week to week throughout the year.
But if you judge solely on how many times a guy gets his name put in the best players via the sunday mail, then im no chance ;)

On the team of the year, i'd add Devries (pac), Frinsdorf (igs), Hinsley (port), Brackstone (kil), porplycia (smosh) and Solly (ph) to the list to be considered.

None of these are confirmed but some interesting results from today i hear.

Portland over Scotch by a couple of goals, PH beat SMOSH by about 6 goals, Mitcham by 11 goals over Kilburn and PAOC lose their first game of the year to Seaton !!! Pretty sure Seaton sneak into the finals on percentage.

Havent heard any news on the CBC/Iggies game yet.

Over the moon that we managed to claim 3rd spot and the double chance, especially after the horrendous start to the year we had.

Portland has never made D3 finals in its short history, so making the major round ticks another box as far as achievements go. May not seem much to some, but for blokes like myself who have been at the Thunderdome since day one, it means a massive amount. 5 years ago we were a kick or two from being in D5. Well done lads !

Really looking forward to the next few weeks, with a huge game against Iggies this week. They have the wood on us this year, so it will be a massive effort to get over the line. Winner gets a crack at a slightly wobbly PAOC, who have a week to stew over things.

The real stuff starts next Saturday, clean slate for everyone. :D

Before alot want to get on here & put down Seatons effort i must say a very couragous display by the boys Saturday.
Unfortunately for us its a little to late & no PAOC didn't lay down we played a solid TEAM game where everyone played their part & were rewarded for doing so. THE UMPIRES ONCE AGAIN WERE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.
Consistancy has been the big problem all year with Seaton, relying too much on the same players week in week out, alot of blokes need to have a good hard look at themselves in the mirror & be honest in asking themselves did i give the 100% thats required & did i take onboard & carry out the instructions & game plan i was told to do so? If they had the TEAM would be playing finals football & would of finished top 3.
At presentations saturday night our coach announced his resignation & will no longer be involved with Amateur League Football.

To the Portland boys phoning Luke Hosie numerous times satuday night slagging him & our coach, you proved what childish BOYS you are.

Yeah, most of our side are pretty young and some are slightly childish, but if you dish it out you have to expect to get it back. Luke did come into our club late last year, spruiking how we wouldnt get within 10 goals of beating Seaton. Some may say that is karma. Either way, who cares.

Gee, couldn't see that coming

Not sure what to make of it. PAOC had a pretty good side in, and Seaton had nothing to lose. And are a good side. Maybe the trip down to Pedlar Reserve, and the weather, was a little too much for the PAOC lads to handle - out of their comfort zone.

I wouldnt think they threw it on purpose, or took it easy. Form is one thing you dont want to mess with, especially this time of year.

If he'd done so ( Hosie ) he got what was coming.
I'd doubt our coach would do the same.
