Apparently there is one very unhappy father (Pappy) going around
at the moment. According to the rumour mill he is considering his options
and may pull the pin, I am not sure about his daughter.

be a shame if either left, games short of umpires already and this doesn't reinforce confidence in anyone wanting to umpire

MP where your umpiring career at?

I don't know about anyone else, but other than occasionally helping out the Tiggers 2's, I don't want any involvement, because the umps are a group of dedicated people who give it their all, and are constantly bagged, and recieve no back up from the League.

No chance of me joining that elite level.

that a real shame, from what i saw you seemed to enjoy what you were doing and weren't half bad at it ;)

i can see ur point though, from this weeks antics certainly doesn't enthuse anyone to give their time and in return receive crap

Sounds like the match of the finals will be in the first week

After reading Boags's write up it should be noted MP also had Blewitt, Phil D & Tessman missing. Not sure Waybacks could assume there returns will make the difference....

Waybacks had Kayser, Minya & JCS out, pretty close to break even I reckon!!

Agree to disagree there.
Mallees have been the demons finals bitch for a few years now, and thankfully finals not played at Pecker Park. Sounds to me like only one side capable of stopping the pecker juggernaut, and MP know that too.

I heard a whisper this evening about the wider umpiring community, and a possible "selective strike."

I think we all know where the selectiveness would come in...

I don't know how highly I rate my source's source. But personally, I don't see it happening...

MP u heard it correct, i believe decision was to be made last night one way or the other...could possibly be two teams with only one round each to play and one with nil

tend to agree with ya on outcome

So you don't think Mallee's would be thinking 'Bulya brothers, we whipped them without Joely, Uncle Phil and Minya Blewwy, gunna be too easy'.

And Horgs is probably rubbing his hands together thinking "We nearly beat the UFC Peckers without Minya, Hyphen, and Kayser."

Not sure about that, but I do know there is only one side in PLFL at present that they are worried about, and Saturdays result won't have eased that fear.
Is that WCP or Bantam or peckerpower?????

And then when Waybacks start the niggle to try and put them off the game the umpires will award them a free kick to commence the game ala 2008.

While I don't condone the actions of MP on that day, they had every right to feel cheated and the umpires should be made aware before the first semi that this tactic most definitely will be employed and maybe the instigators should be penalised this time around, ala Steven Baker. This was the case in a Riverland GF a couple of years ago I played in.

The young lady in question was told by Joey B that she was a "absolute disgrace as an umpire"
at the tribunal. When asked how MP would plead JB asked the Commisioner about the mandatory
sentencing policy and was told " thats only a guide line and I havent even read it yet"
"in that case we plead not guilty"
Once again the race issue was bought up MP are being victimised how come their players are the
only ones that get reported etc etc
the Umpires, PLFL and MP are meeting to discuss whether or not the umpires front the game.
From my perspective the judiciary need to front the PLFL with a please explain.
I would fully support the Umpires in there stance, I know we all give them a hard time on Saturdays
but they have a job to do and deserve to be respected for that

Someone needs to talk to JB about glass houses, because his club, it's administration (or lack of), and his players are the real disgrace in Pt Lincoln.

With the ladder positions finishing the way they will. One of the best sides in the comp will be knocked out in the 1st Semi (MP v W) and Tasmans will get a free pass to the GF.
