Congratulations to the SAAFL for giving us 2 15 year old girls as central umpires. That was a great idea.

if those girls are only 15 they are very well developed 15 year olds :?

Not a lot of point arguing Jimmy as you know. One person and two sheilas run the League and the offices. End of story.

Not sure where it says any of that in my post, just says he is small and was the retaliator.

so what in your opinion did he retaliat to?

The bloke double fist punched him in the back of the head when he was face first on the ground. Ive played footy with and against the bloke since we were 14 and ive never seen or heard of him doing anything like that. Not defending his actions but will defend his character. Also Pooch is the smallest bloke on the field closely followed by no. 5 blash.

No. 9 mad dog is no sniper his first attack is the ball and if you have the ball look out. Hes one of the blokes you love to play with but would hate to play against. This bloke is a finals specialist.

I cant see what was spoken about on here before when it was mentioned that CBCOC were the number 2 side on the comp. Saw nothing to point that out. Our guys were strong at the ball and pressured the carrier to make the mistake and pounced. Bouncing back from 2 big losses was great to see. I will question the toughness of CBC though. We had a bloke sent off for an indiscretion but CBC were soft no doubts abou it.
Looking forward to what happens next week and beyond. To come from where we were to now is great for our club now and next year. I still think that Iggies and PAOC are the sides taht will determine the promotion and the rest of the sides playing off in finals.

but in the end Portland were up to the task and ran away with it,
just a quick comment on a few of CBCOC players. if number 5 doesnt get atleast 5 for king hitting the smallest bloke on the oval in the back of the head right infront of the umpire there is something wrong, and number 9 was the biggest sniper i have played against, to his credit he got away with it and what always happens was the retaliator got caught.

u mob at portland would have to be the biggest bunch of sooks in the SAAFL. u have a team full of snipers, who are infamous for behind the ball hits(and on the ball hits) and have played that way every time i have seen you play. it is what u guys are about! im not defending any CBC player for hitting anyone off the ball, cos it is a weak act, but jeez a portland player having a whinge about something like that makes me laugh.

I was just sitting here thinking the same thing chram

As my Dad would say the little pri** probably has got away with it 20 times and this time he got one back. He ll think twice next time

Quit crying you sooks - all we here on here is everyone else has bad changerooms or a bad oval and your the victims of a punch, yet if one of you belt someone then you think its funny or the blokes soft because he stood in front of that big thug old bloke of yours

The whole incident with No. 5 from CBCOC was handled pretty well by the umps. He did hit a bloke, from behind, to the side of the head when he wasnt looking. Copped a red-card, end of story. Im sure he was fired up by something in the first place, but you need to be better than that. Umps handled our red card incident pretty well too i thought.

This whole umpire stuff has become boring. The 2 umps in charge of our game on Saturday did a great job. Sure, they made mistakes but both girls looked more than capable. Surely peoples energies are better directed at things they can control, rather than whining about things they cant really change.

Just on our game on the weekend, i thought Douglas was by far CBCOC's best player but having him get most of his possies in the back half definately didnt help CBCOC's cause. He looked as if he was playing a sweeping role back there for large chunks of the game. The Dolphins also had a tall backline, which suited us i think. Wareing was too agile at ground level for his opponent all day, plus they really didnt have any answer to Moody, Laslett and Wiles through the midfield, or when they pushed forward of centre.

Ok, i will add his opponent did seem to have an extremely large head, very elongated. This may have affected his centre of gravity and created the illusion of Wareing being agile...

It's good to see the great man kick a bag. In good form just at the right time as the finals are just around the corner.

I agree case closed. But im gonna defend my mates if someone on here has a sulk and tells a very bias version of events. Call teams soft and snippers is leaving yourselfs open for a fall. What ever happened to what happens on the field stays on the field? The footy gods wont appreciate it and you dont want them against u.

Havent mentioned umps and dont complain about them on here because it makes it look like sour grapes. But the recent talk has been bout the fact we are not getting 1 senior 1 junior ump.

my thoughts on the Powers gameplan:
Will chip short into the corridor then play on or handball as much as possible. Seemed to be a switch of play then a chip into the middle followed by a long kick fwd. Apply forward line pressure is the key. DO NOT ZONE. But its also essential to clog the centre square up with traffic. They generated the loose man in the middle through midfield rotations. Very similar to the old fitzroy circa 04 game style. Seen them make close to 20 rotations off the bench a quarter.

the two girls are the best of the academy umps. on the 1 old ump 1 young the sanfl control div 3 that is why u only get the young umps in div 3. in my opinion they should be in div 1res & div 2res. learning to umpire.

Ditto. The two girls have consitently been better then their male counterparts. Having said that, I don't get the hype with complaining about umpiring. Just get on with it eh?

Get the feeling we will need to not only win, but win reasonbly well against a Para Hills side pretty desperate to end the season on a positive note. No easy games at the Paddocks. Didn't see Mitcham winning by 90 points thats for sure!

Any tribunal dates to coem out of aforementioned Portland/CBCOC Blues?

that poor fellow at full back copped a fair bit of stick about the shape/size of his head aswell from the crowd.
as for number 9 so when he kneed dicko in the head twice when he was getting up is not dirty, hence the retaliation and when he belted coppo, tell you what when coppo wanted to have a dig back and was held back by 4 players he didnt look like such a mad dog.the blokes like jake king, zero ability and there to ruin football games. quite obviously it didnt work so maybe its time to try something new. PLAY ON

These things happen all the time Piccachu. I have seen with my own eyes blokes in our own side do things. Maybe not king hit someone from behind but throw a punch or take someone off the ball. It happens.
If I was one of the boys that got a cheap shot on the weekend, I would just remember what happened and if we meet them in the finals then when the bloke is over the footy, hit him hard and fair and make him hurt.
At the end of the day like you said we won so he was the loser come 5pm.
