K Time i think there has only been 1 club in lincoln that has ever been concerned with stacking their 2's again and it just might be the team roo is playing for this weekend

Dermie, K Time, I'll bite...

I think the "average age" of the successful B Grade teams, Rangers, Tasmans, Tigers (last year only), has been 30+, so it isn't like any of these teams are taking their gun mid-20's A graders and putting the into the 2's, in the hope of a flag...

It's just that the above teams had quality older players, i.e Proude Boys, Sampson, Collins, Stoeckel, Lanky, Hull, Leslie, Edmonds, Searle, and these guys certainly can play, even still.

After twenty-odd years of A Grade footy, if these blokes want to see out twilight in the 2's, good on them for still having a kick...

well said Media Park. Not everyone has the ability to play A grade untli retirement,if a few of the old fellas want to finish off having some fun in the Bs they should be able to do it without some dickhead on this site accusing their club of stacking.

I left ravendale yesterday wondering why Roo played and what it achieved?

How could bostons lose by that much to the 5th placed side?

Roo stated in the times and on the radio why he played. Two as his mates asked him to have a game for their club.
What did it achieve? Well if you were there then the final game sized crowd should have said enough.

The promotion of football with a positive headline, more hype and anticipation to the top of the table clash, and a lot of revenue to the RCC with the massive crowd. And to top it off, he didn't go out there and kick fifteen goals, so he didn't have a massive dominating influence on the game... a win all round I think.
How could bostons lose by that much to the 5th placed side? Bostons simply don't have the numbers. Not enough talented A Grade standard blokes running around. Four or five fellows who'd get a gig in most senior sides, but a lot of spectators in the 21 IMO

Also congrats to Brett Watho, who I heard played his 100th senior game for the Tigers on the weekend.

Daic's as was said he bought in the crowd and i am sure the numbers were up at the gate, the bar & the Canteen. He had 1 & 2 on him all day made it easier for those around him.
I went and confirmed my thoughts about Tasman supporters. Whinge, wine and the world is against them. Did not once question Roo commitment because at the end of the day if the delivery was half decent to him could quite easily had 5 or 6 when easy passes missed him by a long way.

So its ok for you to say Bostons are stacking their b's but when someone suggests your club is doing the same you get all defensive, build a bridge KT.

I admire what Roo has achieved on the field dont get me wrong but I left thinking why did he play? sat in a forward pocket all day, he had around 8 touches for the day, one mark on the lead goal and one handball over the top in the square goal and about half a dozen other hurried possesions. He looked slow and dis-interested. I didn't see two on him at any stage and the young lad on him had limited ability (frizzy haired solid lad) sorry I dont know his name buit others with more knowledge may know his name. These retired players who come back who havent been in training only embaress themselves in my opinion.
No doubt there were a couple of hundred extra in the crowd but by no means was it massive.

Souths will go out in straight sets that is certain, they are clearly the 4th best side in the PLFL. Tasmans can win the flag but time will tell as we all know what there deficiency is.

And mine from further up the page... There is honestly no club in Lincoln who you could seriously accuse of stacking their 2's.

Occasionally you see at the business end of the season, a fringe A Grader who's had a couple of Ressies games throughout the season play a game to "qualify," when a club isn't going to play A Grade finals, but the Tasman premiership sides were fellas who'd played the whole year (or the most part of it anyway) in the 2's, and let's face it- Tasman A's would wipe the floor with Tasman 2's any day of the week.

What I'm trying to say Daicos, is that if a side was really "stacking," then the 2's should be able to win, shouldn't they???

All this talk about the crowd, it was only a normal crowd for a W v MR game at Wangary a few years ago when they were both up and about. Big for those clubs maybe..... 8)
