7 out of the 11 players are from the sub continent which isn't of great surprise with some of the wickets they produce from time to time.

I know what yourself and Brod were getting at with the fair and only comments. But hey i don't see the shame in getting out 43 times somewhere between 100 and 199 ;)

Should we deduct Sir Walter and Sir Don from that list ?
They did it when there were World Wars happening

Of the current lot it is dominated by Sub continent batters
Absolute farce how SOME of these guys have inflated averages

Imagine how many more double tons Sir Walter, Sir Don and Mr Gillespie would have made if they batted on the sub cont roads

Anurudda Polonowita, Sri Lanka's national curator, has defended the pitch at the SSC, blaming the weak bowling line-ups for a dull draw. "I am quite happy [with the pitch]," Poloniwata said. "You take the Indian side. Six or seven world-class batsmen. Top level. Better than England or Australia. What is Sri Lankan batting? Same. All record holders. What is their bowling? We had Murali, we had [Chaminda] Vaas - 800 wickets, 400 wickets. Where are they now? Now see the side. Why don't you talk about bowling rather than the pitch

Gautam Gambhir, the Indian opener, has been ruled out of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at the P Sara Oval, while offspinner Harbhajan Singh is also a doubtful starter. Gambhir had missed the second Test because of a swelling in the knee and Harbhajan, who was not at full fitness for the first Test, did not train

Samaraweera and Mendis have put on 100 for the 9th wicket

At tea SL 8/225
Samaraweera 78*
Mendis 45* (not bad for a player with a test average prior to this innings of 9, with a test Highest score of 27 and FC highest score of 37)
