Andrew Flintoff's future is once again in major doubt after he was ruled out for the remainder of the season after failing to recover from the knee injury that has sidelined him since last year's Ashes.

It had been hoped that Flintoff would return to second XI action with Lancashire this week but his comeback was initially delayed following concerns over how his knee would react to a one-day game. Now the decision has been taken that he will not be able to resume playing at all this summer.

Phillip Hughes is going back to England to state his Ashes case after recovering from a dislocated shoulder. Hughes, the New South Wales opener, has started full-scale training but his time with the local side will be short after he agreed to finish the county season with Hampshire

So Dan Christian played in Hampshire's victorious T20 comp win a couple of days ago.

Now he's pulled his hammy, and probably wont be part of the Champions League...

HAMPSHIRE WON (lost fewer wickets)

Someset 6/173
C Kieswetter 71 (59 balls)
KA Pollard 22 (7 balls) ret hurt
DG Cork 2/24 (4 overs)
DT Christian 1/30 (4 overs)
Hampshire 5/173
ND McKenzie 52 (39 balls) MAN OF THE MATCH
SM Ervine 44* (31 balls)
DT Christian 3* (4 balls)

Hampshire secured the Friends Provident t20 in extraordinary style by losing fewer wickets than Somerset after scores finished level after a frantic final two overs that turned a comfortable chase into a mad scramble. It ended with Dan Christian, who had to call for a runner for the final ball, scoring a leg bye and then, forgetting his injury, sprinting the length of the pitch only for Somerset to miss the chance to run him out and secure victory themselves. One-hundred-and-fifty-one matches came down to one ball.

Glamorgan opener Mark Cosgrove hit a magnificent 142 before Sussex's bowlers fought back in the final session on the second day of the battle between the front-runners in Division Two of the County Championship. Glamorgan declared on 300 for 9 at Hove after losing their last six wickets for 61 as both teams gained three bonus points. Sussex closed on 30 without loss from five overs.

Australian Cosgrove was at the crease for 10 minutes short of four hours, facing 177 balls and scored 100 of his runs from 25 well-struck boundaries. He dominated the Glamorgan innings but honours ended just about even with a draw still the favourite outcome after the first-day washout.
