Bostons and Rangers were obviously competitive on the weekend
which is good to see. Any reports for the new mandatory sentencing scheme
to practice on ?

ALLEGEDLY there was a scuffle between a WFC player and a MRFC player, and the runner physically removed the MRFC player...

I'll find the tribunal outcome interesting personally.

You hear that player/player incidents are a "lesser" offence, and incidents involving umpires or officials against players are the more serious (striking an umpire generally being considered the most heinous offence possible), so you would assume a team official (in this case the runner) making "deliberate physical contact" with an opposition player (and in this case a junior footballer), would be a very harshly treated offence.

For the alleged offender, being an A Grade player at his finals-bound club, he'd be hoping for something along the lines of a reprimand, however, for the "new" rules to have any great effect in changing the wider perception of the PLFL tribunal, the penalty should be harsh.

The bloke would feel pretty hardly done by though, if he's the first fella drilled under the new system.

He broke his collarbone in the first round so hasn't been travelling all that well at all. My understanding is he might get a game in before finals but probably unlikely.

If Tumby and EU are under lights that would be a great thing for Footy hopefully they can schedule some games early in the season for 2011.
where to for GF footy in the next couple of years?
Lock and Eyre United are genuinely struggling I see where Bunny Burrows played
a couple of weeks ago. Is it just a matter of time, the netball teams seem to be at least competitive
and the Sporting facilities are good.
But Footy?

Cyril Rioli did a Harry on the weekend, explained by letting his frustrations get to him. Deals with these frustrations by lashing out violently. Sound familiar? I'll go on, gets two weeks that he tries to get overturned, still not taking responsibilty for his actions. At the time of the incident the media immediately assume there must have been some sort of racial vilification, could never be Cyril losing the plot.

Can you imagine the phone call:
"Hey Harry its Cyril hear how did you get off so easy at the tribunal"
"Gday Cyril just talk about being prevocated, totally out of character, racial vilification"
"no worries mate thanks for that"

If that was Barry Hall he would have got six

Second half of this game will be played under lights at Tumby.
A Grade game starts at around 4.30, (i think).
All junior games and reserves will be pushed out by similar times, but netball will be kept on the original schedule. Should be a great day/night, hopefully it may lead in to further games next year under a similar structure.

I think you will find OS that he pleaded guilty to the striking charge but the club wanted to appeal the attempted striking charge as he was already fined for being in a mellee and they believed that would over ride that charge, not to be for Cyril, mind you there were a few Port players attemping to strike in the mellee so how they only found 1 player in all of that you have to wonder. So to put him in the same basket as Harry is a little rough as there wasn't much violence in it mainly your old fashion wrestle.

I wanted to leave this alone myself, but I am a touch surprised that no-one's picked up on this...

In 2010, we have had: 1 X LSFC A Grade runner, 1 X BFC Under 17 runner, 1 X WFC Under 15 runner reported, 1 X MRFC Under 15 umpire accused of handling a player, and 1 X MPFC runner implicated in an on-field brawl.

How is it that we have a League where this is allowed?
