get your facts straight aceman you moron, gepps finished 3rd in 2008 and fourth last year negative people like you turn people away from football clubs not coaches , and if you want another fact roey is going interstate next year so you and your other idiot mates on here talking about him taking players when he leaves then have a good hard look what you have brought to the club and ask yourself why the hell would anyone want to be associated with gepps cross and be criticised week after week the players as a group cannot stand the sight of you around the place .

Aceman, you might need to call in the Lone ranger, I don't think tonto is too keen on you. All that in his first post, must have been saving it up for a while

I guess when you have as much as Ace does to say there is bound to be a few noses out of joint.

Just to add my 2 bobs worth from what i have heard about jason he has been magnificent for the footy club. Not only did he do above average job with coaching but he got sponsorship, and events happening for the club for the past couple of years. I think you have to take your hat off to people like him who really take pride in the club there involved in. I also believe the players are in fault for there perfomances because if they were proud players they would be embarressed by there inconsistancy. I would imagine blokes like Ace and most Gepps Supporters would judge Jason on performance on the field and unfortantly it also comes back to players they recruit to the club. I for one hope Gepps find a guy to coach with the club at heart and not his pocket first otherwise it could be some tough times ahead.

eez Tonto, I don't know a great deal about the SAAFL, but safooty.net is a place where the might of Aceman is certainly welcome...

You might have picked the wrong poster to have a crack at first up, before you end up being dumped in the infamous pile of Spud posting trolls...

MM, the contribution made by Jason & Kym Roe has been exceptional, noone has ever said otherwise and the club would be much worse off if they hadn't.

Without adding to the above post by tonto, I have been a strong advocate for Jason with a few exceptions (in relation to player discipline) and a certain person who I spoke to on Sat at TTG it appears misrepresented what I said about Jason's tenure at Gepps Cross. This has suddenly brought about a few distasteful things which will remain between Jason & myself.
I am not on the GCFC committee, nor do I have input with decisions so people can think what they wish, but in 30 years all I was paid for was in 1993 I coached the U/17 and was paid $100.00 for the honour of a premiership. Not 1 cent more for years of service unlike some, nor did I expect it because my kids played most of their footy there.
Coaches at Gepps are well paid, some better than others too I might add.
I have been insulted before and probably will be again, but my footy club has been a big part of my life and when individuals noticably take advantage of certain things, we have a right to speak up and people can read into this whatever they wish.

ps my apologies for the error in finals positions in a previous post, it obviously upset tonto, I wonder why?

Been on the committee for around 26 of those 30 years pal in every position except "missionary". Are you able to make the same claim? I'm guessing your answer would be NO hence your title!

No mate, my involvement has been restricted to playing and coaching only thus far, but I have certainly seen many a person sit back and shoot off criticism at various clubs I have been involved in, yet when it comes to getting in and helping the cause, they go missing..
Your situation clearly is not like that and I admire your loyalty to your club..
Yours would be more about "It would not happen that way when I was there" !!!!!
So maybe the sniping has only been for 4 years then???

Thanks for the vote of confidence T, not sure I have to justify anything to IO but my 4 years I had not on committees, I still was involved in some way helping the club. Very confident I've done my bit and BTW, I'm still there!

No mate, it works out at around 1 off in every 7-8 years, a bit like the 7 year itch!
Need a break to regenerate, remove the knives from the back, allow the bleeding to stop and the wounds to heal, get new clothes without 'dagger holes' and go again. ;)

was not at the game Ace, but you are correct in the last paragraph. have gone backwards with Jason , and if what i hear is true, if he is not appointed next year he will "take players with him" ##then let him go and let him take the players with him [ he will have to get a bigger spa [[ or downsize ]] ] cos they are not the players that you want to build the club into a strong div1 club

## any club taking him on should really do research about his 'gameplan' as oppossed to what he ' can bring '

old moz what the hell are you on about. you have a very short memory. gepps 10yrs ago were a middle of the road A2 team. I think jason has improved that club and there reputation, okay this season has not gone to plan, so what you kick the crap out of the coach.
look at jasons record as coach. he took on Salis Nth in the old SAFA days when they were a crap side and built that club into a respected and strong club. What was his record like at Broadies? pretty good i think. he has done well at gepps. So any club taking on Jason be aware of his record. Game plan geez thats overrated in local footy. if your players cant get hold of the aggot no need for a game plan. sounds like sour grapes.your comments a full of crap
The biggest credit for improvement in the club from back then goes to Neil Rawlings who got the club into Div 1 for the first time and they played in the prelim against Broadies in the first Div 1 year. Roey has had some influence in improvement too, but nowhere near enough to rate as highly as Neil.
In 2008 (Jason's 1st year)the team that we had was the best ever assembled by Gepps Cross yet couldn't get any further than 5th. Since then, there has been no improvement in finals appearances and that's what our club's improvement is gauged on. .
This can be blamed on anyone you want to blame it on, but facts speak for themselves.
i agree neil must of been great for the club, but you have underestimated jasons record as tontos post suggest. i just dont like the way a coach gets kicked for 1 bad year which still has hopes for finals. pretty tough comp that div1 and doesnt take much to be beaten if you are off the boil. well you boys got your wish anyway hope your next coach doeesnt take you to final 2 yrs in arow and then slides on the 3rd.

I played for the opposition in that one Ace. Premiership, thanks to a certain ring-in from Norwood late in the season (who happened to get drafted that year) all you would of had to do is sit back and watch ;)

It appears it may still haunt you LMA. You blokes were nearly 3 goals up at 3/4 time and your supporters were 'dancing in the streets'. I reckon we kicked 7 or 8 in the last quarter.
That "ring in" played all but 2 games at Gepps Cross that year after coming into the club preseason looking for a game and if my memory is correct, didn't figure in the 4 best players on the day.
Must admit, he could play though and did make things look easy!
