FYI here are the recent All-Australian Wingmen:
2007 Chad & Kane Cornes
2006 The Goodies: Goodwin and Goodes
2005 Hayes and Del Santo
2004 Judd and Lappin
2003 Hayes and Paul Williams

What a waste hey....

You want to have a sook about injuries but when Duncs mentions the umps you jump on him and say "play div 5 get div 5 umps" Well play div 5 and generally you get some blokes who are a little injury prone

Enough said

I agree with the point you are trying to make however your examples do not support it.
The players listed were midfielders and with the nature of all australian selection midfielders spill over into the wing positions. I can't remember too many of the players listed sitting out on wing waiting to receive the ball.

Ok but you havent seen Goodes regularly on a wing? U havent seen micheal long or peter matera destroying sides from a wing? Keiran Johnson from flinders is a perfect recent amatuer example who hurts sides from the wing...Matt Kowal another in times past.....

At the end of the day, your best players are your best players, be it a wingman a back bocket (wanganeen) or a full back. What are you suggesting, all wingman are soft and wait out for the ball?......wow I'd love to be the brahma lodge wingman.....

Lizbeff, on the other hand have a dream run home playing the bottom 3 sides and have a real possibility of snatching 3rd.

Sadly, them's the facts. (and we cross our fingers and hope for a s-load of upset games to work out in our favour ;)

Hopefully for us that one of them upsets occurs at Hope Valley oval this Saturday, that would certainly throw the cat amongst the pigeons. I don't envy your run home, at least you should be finals hardened if you make it.

I'm not hoping for these upsets for your benefit mate ;)

:( The Smithfield vs Rosewater game is the big one for both clubs IMO. At least you have Heccies and The Lodge at home, it should give you some benefit.

One of us will be sitting in the five after this week, unless, of course, we draw!

plympton b grade very good game in the balance untill the last quarter when they out ran us with some quick forwards

i think out b grade warrant 3rd or 4th spot they can match it with the best but i think elizabeth will smash the div 5R grand final but i find it funny how plympton and elizabeth b grade are so good but there A grade struggle

Fantastic result considering the 9 missing out of the A grade first 21.

What are you trying to say about the B grade's Beau? There are always teams who have reasonable A grades but excellent B grades. IMO, we are better for that run in the B's, wouldnt mind another crack at them. We improved 200% on our effort last time, some good signs. Big fella at CHF for Plympton looked fairly handy. Elizabeth the standout team for me, wouldnt mind seeing how they went against AL today.

meaning how there b grade are so good but dont have the depth to match it with the top sides in the A grade

Well done to B Lodge to good for us on the weekend plympton had as much of the ball but lodge alot cleaner with their ball use than us. massive game for the dogs this week V Hope Valley we should have, up to 7 or 8 back in the A grade which will obviously help. Will be a finals type atmosphere down at the kennel. Also good to see the big fella Phil Middlin playing in the 2s on sat he may be a handy addition to the A grade in coming weeks.

well done to smithfield, finished better than us and made us pay from some turnovers in the second half. both games played in great spirit.

It got a bit worrying at times wondering what the umps were going to decide after blowing their whistle. A few errors both ways, nevertheless I don't think that there was anything bias going on. Blackfriars really pushed us and we were good enough to answer every challenge they made during the second half. We missed Newman in defence and Steve Taylor had the flu which hindered his impact on the game. Hopefully we can gain 3 or 4 players this week from injury for the big blockbuster game against Rosewater at home.

Nice work DW, especially for a monday morning. You'd be happy to know that my youngest has been playing for the eagles in the Under 6's this season, they finished up yesterday he loved it, they were excellent to us. He kicked a heap of goals during the season and handed some off, he had fun and Dave Rogers was a great coach for that age group.

Good lad. Making the right choices early in life I see. Wow, Dave's coaching! Man, we're all growing up aren't we????
Glad to hear he's doing a good job. Pity they didn't have under 6s when we were growing up mate!

definitely no bias in the early game LM, beautifully umpired by the club umps. just cant figure out why they want to change the set up of club umpires for b grade and send them instead to neutral games. i can not believe the result on the saafl website, obviously that many people can be wrong

Should all club umpires be appointed by the League to neutral games?
