if cbc get their numbers back then sure. but i can see them beating portland and the iggies game will be 50/50.
think it will come down to how well Phan and Thredgold come up for them. phan's knee is very iffy and thredgold has had a month plus off and the ankle (i think) may not be the best. but in saying that having douglas back is the biggest in for them because it releases hegerty and raidis who are sweepers more then in and under.

what is everyones oppinion on CBC when we played them earlier in the year they seem to have close to there full list and were were near enough to it also and we beat them by near on 9 goals i think. it was in the wet which i think was a big advantage for us but have not seen them in the dry obviously there results from earlier in the year indicate there a bloody good side but im yet to see that side, douglas is a gun but seemed to have to do way to much against us and got caught numerous times. i also think Iggies are slipping under the radar. on paper there side is a cracker and i think they are going to be very dangerous in the finals race

I think they are a great side. You are right Piccachu, full list, dry warm weather and big grounds - they are really good.

Got off to a good head start early in the year, lost a couple under wintry conditions but with key players back from injury and the weather likely to be a bit better in the next 6 or 7 weeks - I can see them qualifying highly and probably making the grand final.

Portland obviously caught us with our pants down. I think the wet weather thing is bit of a mental hurdle the lads need to get over. I believe we can play in the wet no worries.

We have a fair few out. The big out that people are forgetting is Galps our full back him with lechy we loose 200 plus games of experience and that mental toughness. I think our oval is causing a few of the injuries. But no excuses every team has players out injured.

Can feel a bit of Jarmen circa 97.

Wait till the lads smell the fresh cut grass on a sunny 22 degree day. If we play finals this year, which i think we will, it will be a massive achievement considering 2 seasons ago we were fighting relegation 2 Duvvy 5. We have a very similar squad from last year, players are finding themselves in new situations with the better quality. Last year we could get away with a lot of things. We are a very close knit group, a week is a long time in footy.

interesting statement NM from last year we lost nathan martinovic and shaun hughes (who only played 3 Agrade games last year) if my memory serves me correctly NM your mob offered perko and Las the world and still couldnt tempt them across, and i cant see to many of the lads leaving, infact i think recruiting for next year has started already and things are looking really good mate :D

Sorry thought this was aimed at portland

Perkins was offered the world $60 a win  , if you've heard any different well someones telling little porky's at your club.

Can someone please explain to me why a professional SANFL coach when disciplining a young very talented player for missing training, not only decides the player cannot play for that SANFL club over the weekend (fair enough) BUT decides to tell that player he will NOT play anywhere at all?????? Gee that really gives a young player confidence and keeps him fit and in form to not play any footy. Good way of loosing young gifted players from our game at an age when they are easily swayed to other areas in life. Maybe someone from Alberton way can give me a SATISFACTORY answer????

Football is a winter sport.

My call about fresh cut grass was in reference to all clubs having players out. I honestly dont think we have an issue with wet weather footy.

Another note club stalwart Darren Hocking will b playing his 100th game this weekend. He has done an awful lot for the club over the years and never once asked for anything in return. Highly respected and humerous bloke. Well done mate hope you last longer than 1min.

The player in question is a Port Adelaide Magpies player first and foremost. He signed a contract at the start of the season, saying he is with the Port Magpies.
There are some strict guidelines in regards to training sessions (including recovery sessions). If you miss them and there is no real reason then you can expect to be penalised.
The player you are referring to is very talented, but would admit himself that he has done the wrong thing.
Its also not the first time this player has done it this season.
There is also another gifted player who will probably be drafted at seasons end in the same boat this weekend.
The rule is the same for all players. All very well to be talented, but you also need to be disciplined and commited as well.
