bad luck to kev smyth (div4r) was leading but now had about 30 votes taken away. Dont know why but last week was on 50 odd votes, gets in the best on weekend and now on 19. Maybe error was made and now is fixed as he was on twice as many votes as anyone else. Bad luck Kev no free ball for you.

I wouldn't worry too much beef... It's a bit of a joke award anyway if half the teams aren't even submitting votes...

Someone must look at it Choccies, Unley gave him the hardest D4R tag I have ever seen on the weekend...

But being the fitness machine that Kev is, he managed to push through it.

Shouldn't clubs be fined for not putting their best players onto iScore (which is where the fotoball best players come from)?

a lot of the time, team managers just get the "who played well" list and wack them in. you'd guess its pretty close but not every club does it 100% right.

Well I obviously don't understand this then because we are top, with only 1 loss and we only have 1 guy in the top 30 !! We put best players scores into iScore each week so maybe we just aren't doing something right ?? Needless to say it's hardly important...

A very even spread maybe?

Even the umpires votes can be rigged with your own teams umpires, If there were three standouts in a winning side, usually the one who has polled better through out the year seems to have the stronger case for the 3 votes!

Also, if a match is decided by a point or a few, but clearly the loosing side had the BoG, he usually gets the two votes as he was in the loosing side.

Possibly.... The umpires votes aren't usually good either. There's the thought that someone from the losing team must get a vote but we beat Fitzroy by 20 goals and one of their blokes got a charity vote !! Or as u said mate, the winning team gets the 3 votes. So I dont take much out of the umpires votes.... or fotoball player of the year... It's all about 1 thing and thats the end of the year ;)

It is funny hearing some of the criteria other umpires come up with when selecting the votes. I generally speak to the other umpire at 3 qtr time and ask who he thinks is standing out and we rattle off a few numbers to each other to monitor for the last quarter.
We've been flogged nearly every game but there have been some good performances from some of our players during the season that have earnt them at least one point, when I check the papers to see who got best it is usually pretty reflective on how our voting went.
As for the fotoball player of the year, it's set up to be abused and coaches would generally hide who they think was their best players for the first half of the season.

We had a bloke kick 7 on the weekend and the umps missed him for the votes all together. (Next highest was only 3 goals). On the surface thats bad but perhaps not terrible, until you hear that the bloke who got 1 vote actually went off injured during the first qtr and never returned! lol

Dont start me on umpires votes.
Last year we had a fill in umpire for one week versus Adel Lutheran. We won by 24 goals, and as our umpire didnt know the process, the Lutheran Umpire allocated votes and guess what........they picked up the 3,2,1. Friggin rort. Is this where we start talking about D7R votes, or is that yesterday's news???!!!

That'd be why there's guy from Lutheran's B grade that has won the Association medal a couple of times.....
Earlier in the year one of our young bloeks got 2 votes in a game and he would have barely registered half a game !! So not sure what the umps saw....

Was just having a look at each division to see how people went from each Grade

As i said earlier a team can get flogged every week and win a player of the year award!
No disrespect to the guy as i dont know him but Mitchell Park this year were no good yet they have a bloke on 55 votes nearly 10 clear of anyone else!
