i rate my dog!

went out in the morning yesterday and when i got home 3 hours later the front gate was half open and the fella was layin on the front porch!

probably didn't quite latch when we left and swung open...

very lucky!!!

that happened a few times at my place
if the bolt wasnt slid accross properly the dog could push it open, but then he couldnt push it back
so he was stuck out front all day.
You would come home from work he would be laying on the porch, so excited to ya see ya when ya got out the car!

this was the front gate. we leave the side gate open so he can cruise between front and back and the front gate was open...

he got out once before when he was really young (dodgy workers left the side gate open and broke our front fence) and someone found him, luckily we had him chipped as a pup otherwise we wouldn't have got him back!

My wife and I acquired a 7 month old Briard at one time.
He'd been in the back yard less than 24 hours when I spotted him with a paw on either side of the round door knob of the back door trying to rotate it.
He succeeded later that afternoon, so I took to latching it, and then he ate his way in through the plywood bottom panel the cat door had been set in.
You should have seen the cat's face as he finally pushed his head and right leg through the gap he had made by the time I heard the noise and got there.

I was impressed by his intelligence and determination.

nope, once he gets through the gate then he is out the front.
could run to victoria road and get hit by a truck if he wanted to!
Im sure he went for a wonder around the houses then would have gone home cause he was hungry and thirsty
so waited till we were home!
