At one stage nothing could go wrong, our skill, decision making, and umpiring just seemed to happen for us. CBC looked like they lack depth, C grade forfeiting, B grade were very weak... and their A grade were not a '2nd on the ladder side'. The Hawks are looking forward to the PAC challenge next week. When PAC are 15 - 0, i understand they have a right to be confident. Its interesting to hear that PAC players including their captain are already claiming they've got the flag in the bag. Such an attitude can be dangerous, and comments made by the captain and other players are just putting extra pressure on the 21 PAC players come finals. It's obvious that PAC have decided to flop the cheque book out and recuit instead of developing their squad by seeing the D4 premier names like Moroney, Choimes, Fry, Blanch all playing B's. Just wondering if that might be the reason behind so many bloody punch ups at the Alma on Saturday nights?

this whole post is just humerous, your skipper was pretty confident you blokes were going to knock us off this week i hear. think you'll find he and our skipper were just having a good chat (remembering it was 3am) so all sorts of crap was being thrown around.
also the comment on the fights just makes you look like a F-Wit!

Makes for an interesting game this week with the Mitcham lads posting stuff like that on here though. I am sure Rocky has a copy of the fights in the pub etc, etc, etc for a little motivation (if needed). Not smart things to say on the verge of playing the best team in the Competition. Fights and Cheque Books and telling about guys in the B Grade not happy would not be the smartest thing I have ever read on here. Winding up PAOC is not a good idea. Even Hawkie Ranger the smart Mitcham (supporter/player) agrees it was not that clever

Mitcham should be flying under the radar as they are a very good side. Provoking a Powerhouse like Prince Alfred is asking for trouble.

it could go in circles for ever but at the end of the day all your players are only there for a bit of dosh. and my theory is that they are there for the money cant make it much more blatantly clearer than that can i. as for the oval was unaware that it was unable to be touched but somethings gotta be done about it.

I got to disagree with ya there Grandmasta
If you had a look on the weekend at the blokes walking around wearing there school jumpers
you would have noticed that alot had 2006,2008,2009 on the back of them
Majority of there players have come from the school, similar to a fair few of our players having come from our junior ranks.
Whether they are getting payed is irrelevant. The side is a old collegian side and thats where the majority of there players come from - school.

Think of it this way, would you want to wear that horrible guernsey and play footy on that stinker of an oval every week even if you was getting payed?? No.
Only blokes that went to that school would put up with it.

On the oval Jimmy
someone like yaself with all the strings you can pull could surely get something done about the changerooms?
The oval is stuffed with the amount of traffic it gets on it.

you would think so wouldn't you fisty! but alas no. a few years ago we tried to put a submition in to build a Grand stand like uni have but was told it would never happen becuse of the residents and what not. its frustrating because, if you have used our rooms they arent the best (home ones arent much better) and besides the shades there is no protection for supporters. all we want is a stand of sorts. bigger rooms and a canteen facility. but we will probably fight a losing battle with the counsil until we find a better option.

On the changerooms, do any players clean their boots in the showers at home?

The plumbers have been in and said there was a blockage caused by 3 foot of mud in the drain pipe.

They cleaned it out 2 weeks ago as well, so its not a maintenance issue

Look at a few other very small Away rooms first that are ordinary The ones at PAOC are certainly not the worst I have ever seen. The old Woodville South, Eastern Park, Seaton, SMOSH West Lakes, Gaza, Portland, Glenunga, Pulteney, North Haven, Golden Grove (old) Modbury (shocking), CBC, Para Hills are but a few that are either small, grubby or terrible. This is only a small sample from the memory banks.

i dont think size is a big factor all i ask is that they are clean. our club made the mistake of making the individual showers instead of group ones in the away changeroom which takes up more room. our changerooms are small but they are always extremly clean, i didnt think CBCOC were that bad. seatons is very strange as there shower and toilet area is bigger than the rooms

Think you cant put all those clubs away changerooms in the same category
as Piccachu said. Ours are small but always clean.
PAOC would have to be the worst in that group along with North Havens, havens only slightly better because the shower area.
Smosh's away change rooms are the same size as the home change rooms.
I didnt think CBC's were that bad, apart from the showers making the floor wet everywhere.

I think not having big or beautiful changerooms is a fact of playing away and every team has to put up with it.

Only thing that should be compulsory is that the showers have hot water and work.

Jimmy on the showers being clogged up at your oval, I didnt play but we were talking about it the other night and one of our boys said they couldnt even see the drain in shower. So that may need to be addressed??

Just went and checked out the changerooms Fisty

When I work out how to transfer this photo from my phone to the puter; a picture tells a thousand words

The reason they couldn't see the drain hole was 3 inches of mud in the shower drain.

The entire floor is covered in mud and one of the blokes said he had to drain the sink traps on Saturday because they were full of mud from people cleaning their boots in the sink

Cleaners go through it every Friday

I turned on the hot water service and there was hot water within 10 minutes

So, I'd repeat what I said before - get your blokes to clean their boots in the shower at home and:

1. We wont have a problem with our drains
2. They can face their mum's instead of bitching on here

In over 17 years of senior footy, i have never witnessed anyone clean their boots in any sink in any changeroom, anywhere. Im not disputing there was mud in the drains, but to say it came from players boots, on purpose, is absurd. Those toilets/showers/drains have been blocked for as long as i can remember playing there, which is a long time.

Besides, i dont think any of our blokes would even clean their boots, ever !
