Can I also say, the class of blokes this year matches the Standard and eveness of the comp, A good strong comp with good stong characters throughout!

I agree and I reckon this is partly due to the effort put in by most clubs these days to encourage and accept good sportsmanship by having a few beers after the games in the home teams rooms. I highly rate this as a good way to form some friendships, earn respect and see that the bloke who played at half forward and annoyed the carp out of you all day isn't such a bad bloke after all....

Greenacres v Westminster OS - single figure margin won't surprise me...
Salisbury v Unley
Woodville South v Salisbury West - some interesting Ins for both sides (Cattermole, Clasohm, Chamings), Martin in for Westies is huge though and they're a much better side anyway.
Pulteney v Golden Grove - should win, ensure second spot with their easier run home, and kill off Pulteney's year
Fitzroy v Pooraka - good side, no Mitchell, L Karvelis or Tsoutoras for Fitzroy

Yewwwwwwww little beauty. great game out at woodville of course the salisbury west fans will complain about umpiring but they got 7 frees to woody souths one. i can tell you much relief off the shoulders of the coach and great to get a win on the board for the captain anyone that knows him would know that he definately deserved a win on his 200th game. well played woodville south. hopefully we can string a few together now :).

There was an article in the paper about. He didn't have the best day though as you guys rained on his parade, winning by 139 points.

Congrats to Greenacres, they outplayed us on Saturday. I thought Nathan Wright was more damaging against us on Saturday than Perrie was when he played against us this year. Can play.

A good win by the undermanned 'burras on the weekend. Had a great start and had plenty of the ball out in the parklands against Pulteney but with 2 men down after half time and an increase in desire and intensity from the Blues our lead was severly cut into by 3/4 time as they outscored us 6 goals to 2. But we steadied in the last and happily took the points. Will take a few injuries out of the game but that's life. Good spirit showed by the Pulteney lads to come back like they did.

Good win to Woody South too. Well done lads. I also wonder what happened at the Fitzroy vs. Pooraka game. Fitzroy were horrible against us last week so they obviously turned it around so that shows a fair bit of spirit I guess...

I wouldn't go off the player of the year thing on the SAAFL because that relies on clubs to put votes in and I know there have been plenty of weeks where we haven't done so...

But from watching every game I'd say the A's and B's should be fairly even. Not too many out and out standouts...

FYI
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S.Dew @ Salisbury Football Club 31/07/2010
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all,

Thought I might pass on the information, Stewart Dew is returning to where it all started on Saturday. The Dual AFL Premiership player and Central District product is returning home to help celebrate the Salisbury Football Club's 130th year anniversary. Decked out in heritage strips "The Magpies" will tackle Pultney, whom are both vying for the 5th and final spot in the finals race. For the opposition former Crow Ian Perrie will be lining up and providing a strong presence around the Pultney Forward 50. Also Australia's favourite cricketer Darren Lehmann could possibly suite up in the Early match for Pultney as he did this week.

1st game starting at 12:15 and the 2nd game kicking off at around 14:15, get down for Salisbury's best Steak Sandwiches or the Salisbury Raspberry from the bar, With Bar price's as if it is still 1880, this Saturday it is the place to be! There is no admission fee, so really if you have a few spare hours, there is no excuse. Get down to some grass roots football at a great local club, Proud of it’s Past, Confident of the Future!

*Keep a careful eye out for Marty Magpie handing out treats to all the little kids on the day.
