At one stage nothing could go wrong, our skill, decision making, and umpiring just seemed to happen for us. CBC looked like they lack depth, C grade forfeiting, B grade were very weak... and their A grade were not a '2nd on the ladder side'. The Hawks are looking forward to the PAC challenge next week. When PAC are 15 - 0, i understand they have a right to be confident. Its interesting to hear that PAC players including their captain are already claiming they've got the flag in the bag. Such an attitude can be dangerous, and comments made by the captain and other players are just putting extra pressure on the 21 PAC players come finals. It's obvious that PAC have decided to flop the cheque book out and recuit instead of developing their squad by seeing the D4 premier names like Moroney, Choimes, Fry, Blanch all playing B's. Just wondering if that might be the reason behind so many bloody punch ups at the Alma on Saturday nights?

Im tipping this early, but Mitcham will beat PAOC this week. The Reds need to drop one, and i get the feeling they dont rate the Hawks and probably feel that losing to them does no harm. I know its a huge call, but i dont think they will want to go into finals undefeated.

Why on earth would you try and cause a bit of mischief or try to at least within the PAOC ranks. Don't think that sort of comment will assist you this week. If you Win it will be great but surely posting something on here like that, will only give ammunition for PAOC. The last thing you would want to be doing UNLESS supremely confident is giving a bit of needle to the Giant of Division 3 Competition. Most Clubs would shut up. Good luck if you win but not a smart move in trying to wind people up who have proved to be the Best team in the Competition so far. Would not have thought your Coach would enjoy comments like that for PAOC Players to read. Rocky will be sure to have a copy of them by next Saturday you would think.

Couldn't agree more, who ever's posting this kind of rubbish obviously isn't amongst the core A grade side because that certainly isn't the vibe I've been hearing at Mitcham. Roo is apparently lining up which presents an even bigger challenge than normal.

Should be a cracker game, Hawks to cause mayhem as we did back in 2008 8)

I thought that Phillips bloke was captain of PAC

nobody listens to Thomas at 3am especially his team mates

thats why he was talking to Mitcham people

He''ll no doubt get stick at training as well as a few extra laps

they did run a old and young umpire combination.
and the old guy was worse then the young guy, not that either of them were much chop.

PAOC just a better side on the day, Portland were undermanned, but that is no excuse.
Some of the calls made were horrible both ways.
The older umpire seemed to be in awe of Roo refusing to give free's against him.

I understand PAOC's sponsor is coopers, but surely they could have another alcoholic beverage in the esky though?? you guys used to have scotch or bourbon cans didnt ya?

yep, nothing gets me hard like i nice warm Dr Tims tinny ;)
PAOC are a very good football side, so much size but all nimble, great depth and a good mix of inside and outside players. i think Perkins was beaten for the first time this year (very tough ask for him to jump all day over 2 good ruckman out of mud) cleggett seems like the player that will have contenders for almost footy legends week in week out. devries is a monster of a human being, when i ran past him his head was as big as my guts (which is growing by the week, might sound like sour grapes but looked very much like roo got a ride from the umpires, it seemed he could get away with murder but appart from that didnt think they were to bad.
Dickenson was by far our best player and single handedly kept it from being a massive blow out.
good luck to all sides when playing PAOC, would like to see them knocked off at least once before the year is out,

agree picaboo! PAOC are a very very very good team, portland pretty heavily undermaned and hopefully get another crack with a full strength team! ROO didn't really look interested i thought cleggett and devries were pretty good, devries hands were clean all day and just floated around half back freely! hope PAOC go up next year so we don't have to play in that stinking **** hole again, absolute disgrace and is the same at most college teams home grounds, not really sure what can be done about it but! would rather have an eagle blue than drink another coopers absolute rat ****

We would have played you on the front oval at the school but the headmaster didn't want graffiti on the stone walls - just had them nicely repointed, or mankinis around the boarding house

Portland may be in some trouble. With Igs, CBOC and Scotch ( away ) could they lose the last 3 games and miss the 5. There would be alot of people on here with pie on their face if this eventuates. Anyone got thoughts on this scenario.

this is most certainly a possibility, dont no what the pie bizzo is about, like what has happened with most sides on this forum its people from other clubs talking up portland trying to deflect heat of them self, we were going really well untill the weekends hiccup and the boys were pretty pumped about it (wasnt aware there was anything wrong with enjoying success) anthing can happen from 2nd down to 7th with 3 games remaining and if you wish to have a look over the last few weeks most portland people on her have said that same thing, i personally think we will be there in the finals and think we deserve to be, and its only a matter of time before we find out for sure

Very possible we could lose our last 3. Possible we could win out last 3 aswell.
All the boys are aware of this and Im sure they will be giving there all to win and play the sort of footy that won us 7 on the trot.

CBCOC could also lose their last 3 games with SMOSH, Portland (away) & Igs and miss the 5.

I reckon there may be plenty of other scenarios to ponder, best to wait and see what happens.
